Valentines Day... If You're Single.

Hello again! I know its been a little while since we've really been together in 2015 - I've had a lot of other commitments and 2015 is going to be a huge year for this girl! I'm going to be doing some posts all about my adventures in life this year, next Saturday is a huge one so look out for it! Emma Victoria is going up in the world and I want you all to join me on the journey!!

--------------------------------------

Its got to that time of February where all the lovey dovey stuff is out for Valentines Day - all the adverts, all the shops everything turns into 'Love Central' but for many people across the world Valentines Day can frankly be a shit day. Some people couldn't care less (Oh how I envy these people sometimes!) but for those who do it feels like everyone in a relationship is out to remind you of how alone you feel.

So today I thought I'd write about a few things you can do to spoil yourself this Valentines Day!!

1. Get A Nice Outfit
If you are going out for the day (with family or other single friends) get yourself a really lovely new outfit - make yourself look good! Show the people what they're missing out on!
But also make sure you feel comfortable - nothing is worse then buying a new outfit that makes you feel uncomfortable.

2. Go Out/Stay In
It depends on what you prefer! If you prefer to stay in and out of the way of all the people in 'love' then get a good film, get some popcorn a bottle of wine and make a good night of it! I'll personally be having a few drinks while watching the Rugby 6 nations!
Alternatively you could go out and get smashed with your dearest friends if they haven't got a Valentines - I know a few people who love this option!

3. Give to Charity
This year I've decided to do something a little different too - I'm giving to charity. The money I would've spent on a Valentines (and a little more) is going towards Charity instead. Even if its a little amount it still makes an impact. I'm giving to 2 charities this year - two which are close to my heart - Whizz Kidz & Chestnut Tree House.
You can even give to charity if you have a Valentines - its just giving something to someone else that may need something more then you need them box of chocolates or flowers or that new game.

4. Wine is Your Friend
I found some fantastic deals on wine in the shops these past few days all because of Valentines Day, and I mean really decent wine - so go and treat yourself, take advantage of the deals (stock up if you want too!) and take advantage of not having to share that bottle of wine with anyone!

5. Bake a Cake
I love baking but you don't have to bake if you don't like to! Just do something you really enjoy but don't always have the time to do if you aren't working! If you are working, why not bake the day before and treat everyone at work instead!

6. Go to the Gym
Do something to make you feel good about YOU. In today's world I think people forget to do things for themselves and always do it to please other people.

*OPTIONAL*
7. Go & See Fifty Shades of Grey!
If you love a little bit of Fifty, if you're single or have someone special in your life - go and see the movie! Book your tickets as soon as possible too!

Valentines Day is the day to love yourself and everyone around you. Drop the grudges, the arguments and the hatred and just embrace the loving and happy time, single, taken or married it doesn't matter - spread the Happiness!!

Lots of Love

Review; Fifty Shades Negligee & Underwear

I've been totally in love with the Fifty Shades collection since reading the books - I've turned into a bit of a fan girl if I'm honest! I have 2 mugs, one being the official 'Laters Baby' mug which is amazing and another which was a gift from my lovely friend. However, a friend suggested to me that I look at the collection which is being sold in Tesco - and I'm so glad I did!! I actually had a voucher from Tesco too for clothes, so I happily went and spent it on these beauties!

Satin Chemise

On my initial scroll through to decide what I might get, I saw these and fell in love! Two of my favourite things ever; satin and beautiful negligee! I love the simplicity and elegance of these and as soon as I tried them on, I didn't want to take them off! They come in two colours Duck Egg Blue and Black.

On the centre of the bust on each chemise is a little bow with the Fifty Shades Freed key; I think this is a really lovely touch and adds a tiny amount of glitz to the overall beautiful item! On the hem of the bust is stunning scallop edge lace, and the straps on the garment are adjustable - perfect to help the ladies sit nice and comfortably! The garment sits about thigh length, although I'd recommend if bending down or over to cover yourself - it can be a little revealing! The feel of the item, is a super soft stretchy satin and is really comfortable to wear at night.

I got mine in a size 18-20 and the fit is definitely comfortable - as said above the material is a little stretchy to help accomodate.

Black Satin Chemise - £19.50
Duck Egg Satin Chemise - £19.50

Kimono

The next item is the Satin Trimmed Kimono robe - when first putting this on, I was a little confused as I wasn't sure how kimono's work but soon figured it out. The robe itself is a beautiful soft cotton with the trim of the gown in a satin ribbon - a lovely elegant touch.

I got mine in a size 18-20 - however I do feel this is actually quite big on me when not tied up extremely tight (like the image). On the back of the neck, and on the end of the belt ribbon you have the Fifty Shades Darker emblem sewn on - again another really nice touch to the garment.

The garment sits about thigh length, and again be warned when bending over - although you don't do much bending in bed, only when you get up in the morning. This is a really cosy and comfortable item, and I can't wait for the really cold days to wear this and cuddle up in it! This is perfect for the elegant yet sexy look, and is perfect for not revealing too much but still enough to tease (I like to tease!).

Black Satin Trimmed Kimono - £19.50

Anastaisa Pleated Balcony Bra and Pleated Briefs
So I was totally drawn in by the Anastatsia set. I love the pleated ribbon design (pleated designs are definitely my weakness). Now my actual bra size is a 44DD, but recently, I've being losing weight and getting fit, so toning up and my body proportions are out of control at the moment. So I tried "sister sizes" which kind of worked. I got the bra in a 38E and if I'm honest, all I need is a bra extension clip and its pretty much a really comfy fit! The bra is underwired and has padded cups; the cup holds the ladies well and give me support and lift (which if I'm honest, I was surprised it did!). The pleated duck egg ribbon goes up on the straps, and over the cup and with a little bow and key charm in the centre of the bra and bows on the end of the straps which attach to the cup.

Looking at the knickers, I got the high briefs, as I don't wear thongs that often and these are really comfy. I got these in a size 22 and fit perfectly. The back is a sheer black mesh material (very cheeky) and is really comfy. The front of the knickers have the signature bow and key charm as do most of the other items.

These are really really comfortable - and wore them for a whole 12 hours without feeling uncomfy at all - the bra gave me enough support just as much when I wear my actual bra size. This set is really elegant and charming. Its reserved but shows enough, which in the book is a good representation of Ana. The Anastasia set comes in either Black with Duck Egg Blue ribbon or White with Grey Ribbon.

Black Anastasia Pleated Balcony Bra - £19.50
White Anastasia Pleated Underwired Bra - £19.50
Black Anastasia Pleated High Briefs - £9.50

White Anastasia Pleated High Briefs - £9.50

Elena Lace Brazillian Briefs
On the Elena Lace Brazillian Briefs the whole of the back is a sheer elegant yet risqué eyelash lace which has a comfortable cut along the bottom. The front has a panel with a golden pink back, covered in lace. The modesty panel, is a satin material on the outside and a cotton on the inside. The briefs has a low cut on them, which I'm normally not a huge fan of as these can be uncomfortable and roll down if you aren't gifted with a flat stomach like myself - however for me they did stay up very comfortably and I didn't feel uncomfortable with the lace either. As on the majority of the other items, we have the signature both and key charm - I definitely like the re occurrence of the charm as its just a lovely little detail.

I got these knickers in a 22, and are a perfect fit.

Elena Lace Brazilian Briefs - £9.50

Laters Baby Eye Mask

I really love the simplicity of this eye mask, I love the duck egg colour and the sewn lettering of Christian's famous phrase 'Laters Baby x'. This has a soft ruched ribbon going round the back of the head and has an elastic too. The mask is a satin material with a soft cushioning over the eyes and is very comfortable to sleep in; it does what it says on the tin really and blocks out light. I hate having light in rooms, I have to sleep in pitch black, and unlike other eye masks which do let light in, these don't at all & they are comfortable!

Duck Egg 'Laters Baby' Eye Mask - £5.00
(Unable to find link currently)

Overall I really loved these products! They were comfortable yet made me feel sexy, which is something I feel I've been lacking in lately these past few months! I don't think its even possible for me to pick a favourite, I love them all way too much to describe!

The collection is affordable too, which is something I really like. Sometimes I feel things can be overpriced but these haven't, so big thumbs up for that! The collection is also simple, and not "too over the top" I think it could've gone either way of really elegant, simple yet successful OR it could've been done badly, tacky and be a disaster. I'm just glad its the first one!

I know there are releases of other products such as nail varnish by OPI in January, so keep a look out for other products if you love Fifty Shades!

Holiday - Butlins Skegness

This post is going to be a bit picture heavy, but I really wanted to show you some pictures from my holiday with my best friend.

(Also yesterday I put up a 'Winter Essentials' video up on my YouTube! Don't forget to check it out!)

So, me and my best friend Danielle decided we really needed to get away just for a few days, and with both of us at the time, on a low income, we decided we would take a trip to Butlins in Skegness! We had loads of fun (and loads of alcohol) and here is a few pictures of our trip! We went from the 1st September to the 5th and we had a 5 hour train journey to get there and back, but it was all totally worth it! (Even our horrendous hangovers on Thursday morning.. No regrets!)

We saw the Redcoat Show (AH-MA-ZING)
Drunken Selfies...
Sand Writing
Beach Poser
We saw the Ragdolls - they were phenomenal!
Me drinking one of the many (too many?) cocktails we had
We saw a dead Jellyfish on our beach walk (RIP Little Guy)
Sat on the Butlins deckchair (cheesy smile)
First night early drinks...
We both had our own pictures with the Ragdolls!

I really like doing picture posts like this!! I might do them a bit more often, like each month a small collab of images? I dont know. But I hope you liked this little snappy post!!

OOTW; Pretty Perfect

I'm back my lovelies! Feels like forever since I've posted here, even though its only been 2 months. So, seeing as we are now hitting Autumn/Winter I think its time to crack on with the warmer outfits - but we can still look stylish wrapped up too!

Just to let you know, I'm not doing a new Halloween Outfit for each week like last year, as sadly I don't have the time as I work full time & model part time now. (Sorry! I might be able to conjure something up though!)

Patsy Herringbone Skirt, Collectif - £72 .50
Alice Top in Pink - Collectif - £15
Cream Gail Bolero, Collectif - £45
White Lace Bobby Socks, eBay - £3
Pink Double Flower Clip, eBay - £4
Black Belt, New Look - £4 (in a pair)
Pixie Boots, Clarks - £50 (5 years old, now discontinued)
Ivory Pearl Necklace, Collectif - £15
So you can probably see I'm still very much obsessed with Collectif... I'm always in and out of the Brighton store now days, and slowly becoming part of the furniture!

Make-up
Face
Collection 16 hour Foundation in Ivory
Collection 16 hour Concealer in Ivory
2True Concealer in 01
Bourjois Blush in shade Rose D'Or
Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner
Bourjois Clubbing Liner (Liquid) - Ultra Black
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Bourjois 'Rouge Edition' Lipstick in Shade 03

Nails
Barry Hi-Shine Gelly Nail Polish in Greenberry (Green) & Grapefruit

I actually bought the skirt in the summer in Collectif when rumaging through the sale section in the Brighton Store, last skirt and in my size and I knew I had to have it! The skirt is a super thick Herringbone material and the quality is absolutely fantastic! It has a silk underskirt for that extra layer of warmth in the winter. The skirt is very heavy if I'm going to be honest, for some people this may raise an issue but not for myself personally. (I'm not sure if Collectif are bringing this skirt back for the AW14 Collection or not this year). I'm completely in love with the Alice top, its so basic yet so pretty and perfect to match with several different outfits! I just tied my hair up into a simple high ponytail and added a cute little flower clip for the perfect look. This look is so warm and cuddly that I totally can't wait for it to get a little colder so I can appreciate its cosyness even more!

OOTW; The 50's Teen

So today I have the most perfect look! I've had quite a few people ask me about doing a 50's teen outfit, so here is my take! Pretty similar to most, but its still super cute & preppy!

Freddie Top in Blush, Collectif  - £34.50
Inspire Navy Skinny Jeans, New Look - £12.99
(I've cut and sewn mine into capri's, tutorial will come soon!)

White Bobby Socks, eBay - £4

White Babycham Shoes, £20

Black Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £9.99

Make-up & Hair

Hair is in a 60's beehive.

Make-up is thick winged liner using the H&M Dipliner

Foundation is Collection 2000 16 hour Wear in Ivory
Concealer is 2True in Shade 1

Normally on my outfits I'm often in a dress and skirt, but I've finally found another outfit with trousers that I just absolutely love!

There is another cross-over of the era's here with the beehive and the outfit, 60's & 50's but they go so well together! Although, if you want an all 50's ensemble maybe set your hair in pincurls and pop it into a ponytail with a bow.

I went for thicker winged eyeliner, just for a more dramatic look, however you could also just have really fanned out eyelashes for a simpler/cutesy look.

The beehive is holding about a million bobby pins to hold it in place, but its probably the best I've ever done! I've also re-cut my fringe into shorter bangs, just as they were getting a little long and starting to go into my eyes.

If the weather gets a little chilly, add a cute cardigan. I've added my old cricket cardigan from New Look which I bought about 5 years ago, still super adorable and matches the outfit perfectly!

Anywho my dears! Enough chat from me today, I hope you like this look as much as I do!!

All I need now is a greaser boyfriend, a 50's diner and I'm good to go for summer!

Review: M&S Stockings and Hold Ups!

Hello my dears! Okay, so today's post is a review, I've been asked over on my twitter by some lovely plus size ladies what I thought about the stockings I had bought for some photo shoots.

I'm going to be honest here, I was more of a stockings and suspenders sort of person, however, when I tried on some hold ups for a photo shoot I had back in April I fell in love (and became slightly obsessed).

So I was a bit hesitant to actually go and buy hold-ups, y'know having thunder thighs and all. A friend recommend that I try the Big Tight's Company ; but I never got round to ordering, so I took a punt when I was in M&S and bought these in Black...
Sorry for my ill fitting bra in these... I was washing my bra's and this was the only clean spare one!
These are the 15 Denier Ladder Resist Shine Hold-Ups - these were only £5, so if they didn't fit there wasn't a huge amount of loss in money. I got mine in an XL, the biggest size they had, and they actually fit really well! They don't slip down when I walk, especially in public, which is an absolutely key factor when it comes to hold-ups. The stick adhesive is actually really good and does have a good stay, I only have to re-adjust every now and again so there is no qualms there.

After absolutely loving the ones in black I did go out and also buy them in nude, cause you can never go wrong with nude stockings/hold-ups am I right?! I never really thought I'd be converted, but I seriously am. I really enjoy the feel of these; and especially with the ladder resist side, my friend and me bought a tester pair and punched some holes in to see if they would ladder... They didn't! The product does exactly what it said it should; and I really love the fact that a girl who fits into size 22 jeans with thanks to my thunder thighs fits into these lovely hold-ups.

You can buy them here

10 Denier - Illusion, Black, Nearly Black, Cocoa, Natural Tan, Ivory, Navy.

15 Denier - Black, Nearly Black, Nude.

Shoes are from Peacocks - £18

Glitzy Secrets Review & Make-Up/Hair Tutorial

I was contacted a couple of weeks ago about doing this review; and I just couldn't say no! This is
something I could not pass up so replied and sorted out the details. I'm splitting this post into 2 sections, the first being the review, the second being a Hair and Make-up Tutorial so you can achieve the elegant Grace Kelly Look yourself.

Review
This review is also inspired by the release of the Grace of Monaco biographic film (you can read Glitzy Secrets blog post all about Grace Kelly here). So after having a little look on their website, I absolutely fell in love with the Vintage Ribbon Head Band, it was gorgeous and elegant.

The item is beautifully designed, and the elegant diamonds add a beautiful dimension when a light shines on the headband. This headband genuinely makes me feel like a princess. The beautiful design is set upon a wire headband, which is quite comfortable, it doesn't have any groves so I'd recommend some bobby pins to secure the head band in place if you plan on wearing it for a long period of time. The item is a little heavy, so if you decided to do maybe a beehive sort of style hair you could balance the headband on that to take a little weight off, however it isn't so heavy that you want to take it off.

I got TONNES of compliments when out at the Brighton Vintage Fair last weekend, a lot of people said I looked beautiful and where asking where I got this beautiful headband from. I mainly chose this one due to the elegance and the curves of the piece, I wanted something a little different that wasn't straight and would look gorgeous and this product lives up to it all.

Its also very heavy duty, when sorting my hair out, my friend accidentally dropped the headband when passing it to me, but it was absolutely fine, although I wouldn't suggest dropping it, ours was an accident!!

Overall I love this headband. I would recommend to anyone, whether it be for everyday, for an event or even for a bride getting married to get one of these hair accessories from Glitzy Secrets - you definitely get your money's worth and the quality is absolutely amazing!

Hair & Make-up Tutorial

With the headband I decided to go for a very traditional look, that of which was iconic with Grace Kelly's look. She often had the bottom of her hair curled and the top straight, and brushed backwards.

1. Naked Face. So basically you want to start with a naked face, and clean hair, I normally set my hair to get curls but for this tutorial I'm curling them with clean hair, if your hair is slightly silky like mine then just use some dry shampoo for texture if you prefer, however I opted for none.

2. Pin Your Fringe (Optional) I wanted to make the headband stand out as much as possible, so I decided to pin my fringe back, I just back combed my fringe and pined it back with 2 bobby pins in a cross on top of my head, I also use this cross to help secure the headband later on.

3. Curl First of all take about a 1/4 of an inch of hair, I decided to have thicker curls for this look as this was much more iconic of the Grace Kelly look. When curling only curl about half of your hair (as shown) to create this look - You will get thick curls which you can choose to brush out for extra volume at the bottom of your hair.

4. Seperate Now you want to just brush through the girls with your fingers to separate the curls to create a "bush" of curls on the bottom of your hair.

5. Make-up I've gone for a very simple and elegant look for this style. I used my Collection Lasting Perfection foundation in Ivory for a base on my skin. For my eyes I used 2 eye-shadows, one being the Natural Collection eye-shadow in "Candyfloss" blended across the whole eyelid, and a champagne coloured eye-shadow from my palette again across the whole lid and blended to create a simple nostalgic look. I used a pencil eye-liner, sharpened to a point and drew a thin line on the top of my lid, just going to the point of my eye and stopping; I then went over the waterline at the bottom of my eye and met the two lines of eye-liner up in the corner of my outer eye. I then added my Rimmel Scandal-eyes mascara and to finish used my Maybelline Watershine Lip Gloss in "Cotton Candy".

6. Final Touches. I then add my headband, pushing the hair from the side of my face back behind my ears, I then secure the headband at the sides hiding the pins inside the curls. Using the pins on top of my hair I then secure the top of the headband to make sure it doesn't slip or fall down. And you are done!

When I actually completed this look and looked in the mirror, I genuinley cried. I've never looked more beautiful in my whole life, and I've never cried about the way I look in a positive way. This headband and style would be something I'd consider wearing if I were getting married - the headband's elegance and beauty just adds a gorgeous yet simple effect on the whole hairstyle.

You can buy the Vintage Ribbon Headband here for £32 and much more choice of other accessories over on the Glitzy Secrets Website.

What is it like to be a Rockabilly Girl/Pin-up Girl!

This is one question that is frequently asked to me by a lot of people for a lot of different reasons. I dress in this style nearly 90% of the time I walk out the house - if I'm not in my gear then I'm either popping out for 2 seconds, going to work or I'm not really feeling well. Now even if I'm not feeling too great I try and dress normally with the mind set of "look good, feel good" - but dressing in this style doesn't just come over night. It takes time and practice to look this way.

Lets say I need to leave at 8.15 to go to college... I have to get up at about 7am to make sure I'm ready in time. I normally plan my outfit the night before just to save a little time. If I decide to curl my hair in the morning I normally get up at 6 instead, I then spend a good 10-15 minutes doing my make-up, then about 5 minutes doing my hair. After that I slowly get dressed making sure I don't mess up my hair or make-up. Then its making sure I have my bag ready, then its finding my sunglasses, finding my heels, getting my coat, and making sure it's all still looking neat and perfect before walking out the door.

I also do a bit of modelling alongside college and work - I'm still working with amateur photographers but working with a few more professionals at some point too. Again, I do spend ages looking good for the camera as well, as you can't be looking like a mess when going for a photo shoot.

Another problem I often face is dreaded spots, like every other human. I often get told my skin is flawless and perfect... The wonders of make-up is all I will say. My skin isn't as bad as it used to be back about 4 years ago, but even now I go through a vigorous routine to keep my skin near perfect. This can be laborious doing this twice a day but in a way its worth it.

Another kind of issue I get addressed with a lot is people either stopping/staring at you in the street and people always kind of making a comment. People seem to kind of think I don't know I look different in my style or that I'm oblivious to the world. I mean I'm not saying anyone is nasty, but they always make a comment. I know for a fact that the people at my college seem to have an issue with the way I dress, and frankly it doesn't bother me, it's none of their business the way I dress myself. As I said I do often get stopped in the street for people commenting on my outfit saying I look gorgeous, glamorous, beautiful etc, yes this does give me confidence and that is what encourages me to dress in this style. People respect me and appreciate the way I dress - for the first time in my 18 years I've kind of felt that people like me for the way I've styled myself. On the odd occasion people even stop me to have a photo with me in the street - now that to me is something I never thought would happen! The other week when I dressed like Marilyn Monroe, I had a crowd around me to have a picture with me - THAT'S INSANE!

There is one thing that annoys me though - its when guys think I dress in this way to please them. No, get off your high horse. I dress in this way because I WANT TO; not to satisfy you or anyone else. This is the one thing that does wind me up. Yes I have cleavage, yes I have red lips, yes I'm wearing heels but its not just for your eyes!

Dressing in this style takes time, patience and of course money. Each month I treat myself to a new item of clothing or outfit to add to my collection. I've built my whole collection up from scratch since about February 2013 - and theoretically I've not been doing this for that long but I already have a huge amount of stuff. This style is all about bringing out your confidence, being unique and loving the style.

I know quite a few people who dress in this style and aren't necessarily into the music. Some people have said that these people aren't "true" rockabillies - who says they aren't?! I personally love the music and the style and do wish in some respect that I lived in the 50's - because life seemed to be that little more simpler then. Men were chivalrous to women and women respected men and were lady like. (Personal opinion) and I just kind of miss having a decent guy.

Being a rockabilly isn't necessarily being like Danny and Sandy from Grease, that's only one part of the scene. Fashion, music and lifestyle are a huge part of the scene too. And that's what I love so much about this scene, its so unique!
If you want to ask any more questions about my experience of being a rockabilly/pin-up girl then please feel free, I love to answer your questions!

Soap & Glory Powder Trip Review

Today is a review of the lovely S&G Powder Trip Set - I got this for Christmas from my best friend of 15/16 years and I LOVE it!

This product I have started using on a daily basis - I super love the feel of the product on my skin, it makes it look and feel amazing! I super love Soap and Glory products anyway, and this just furthers my love! The illuminating powder has to currently be my most used out of the trio - I normally use this powder on top of my foundation and face powder, especially when I do Marilyn Monroe make-up.

The blush is also really nice, especially in its aesthetic look of all the different shades of pink that goes into the blusher - this comes up a really cute and rosy pink which is kind of perfect for the winter as the cold makes my cheeks go a rosy pink anyway! The blusher is the one in the top right corner and it is really soft against my skin too.

I haven't really used much of the bronzing powder as of yet, I tend to use bronzing powder in either the summer/autumn, however I have used it a handful of times and it doesn't make me look like an oompa loompa like most bronzing powders do (even when I buy the lightest shade humanly possible).
I do like how it kind of is a nice golden colour against my skin which is pretty fair. I tend to apply mine against my jaw line and on the top of the apples of my cheeks.

Other features include a mirror and a brush, the brush is like a half moon crescent brush, and it does have quite a good coverage for being such a little brush! The only real downfall I have for this product is that it is quite bulky and it does take up a fair amount of space in my handbag when I take it out, other then this, there really isn't any flaws in this product at all!

You can buy this product from Boots - £20

OOTW; I Do Wear Trousers!

I've been asked a lot recently if I actually wear trousers... I do! I just tend to prefer skirts and dresses more so, so today's outfit is of me wearing trousers!

Flowy Floral Top, Simply Be - £15

Black Jeans, Peacocks - £12

Frothy Soda Flats, Clarks - £44.99

This is just a casual outfit for me, its one for when I'm running errands and haven't got the time to cater for my dress flowing around me! I mainly wear these jeans for work because they are comfortable, especially when doing long shifts.

I'm wearing hardly any make-up to be quite honest with you! Just a small dab of concealer and a quick whizz of eyeliner just to make my eyes pop a little!

Hair Clip on both sides just to pin my bangs away and out of my face too! My hair is in a simple low ponytail and if I want to I can pin my fringe back into a small pomp.

Betty the Sewing Machine! (Quick Post!)

Today's post is just a quick bonus post, I thought I'd just give you all a little update on my sewing machine, this is my 'Completed List' so far!

1. I've named my Sewing Machine - Betty-Sue, but Betty for Short!
2. I've already fixed a pair of knickers and 2 cushions using several different stitches (and backstitching!)
3. I finally learnt after about an hour of getting confused that the bobbin thread doesn't go through the needle, but the needle picks the thread up and loops (rookie mistake...)
4. I've learn't that I'm impossible at trying to get the thread through the needle.
5. I've got an itch to keep using Betty, even if it's just to practice.
6. I think I might already be becoming obsessed with Betty...

I got Betty for Christmas and I've finally had the chance to start using her now after setting her all up! If in the future once I've had some practice, for some tutorials, then it'd be good to know if you would like them!

Much Love

New Years Resolution

As I said yesterday, this year I really want to make my life just a little more cherpy and cheerful. 2013 was just as horrendous as 2012, 2011 and 2010. I've finally decided I don't want my private life making my life feel so sad and emotional. I really want to be that person who is always happy and doesn't let any little thing get them down, not the person who has a smile on their face so everyone thinks they are okay.

Overall in my private life, relationships and such - 2012 and 2013 really were awful. I'm pretty much done with relationships and love for a while yet. I'm going to focus on the things that make me happy in life. My blogging, my fashion and now making lots of new things with my Sewing machine. Getting a sewing machine for Christmas really has made me decide I want to start making my own clothes - its a new lease of life. It could even turn into a business one day (wouldn't that be fantastic!).

I never usually have a motto but this year that's going to change alongside other things but here is my new motto...

"Happy clothes, makes a happy me - who can be sad when wearing happy beautiful clothes!"

I will stick to this! Sure, I will have a few moments, but now I won't have as many - I want to feel fantastic in myself, without people's criticism hurting me. I'm going to focus on blogging and modelling and being my typical ditsy self - but most of all I'm going to focus on being happy!
I've also adjusted my blogging schedule to try and fit round my new lifestyle routine with going down the gym and that. Two posts will go up each week

Wednesday will remain as OOTW'S
Saturday's will be a post about any topic!

So what's your new years resolution? Do you believe in them? Write in the comments below to tell me!

OOTW: New Year, New Me

First OOTW and post of 2014! Scary how quick 2014 has come around... its a little daunting to be quite honest with you. I thought I'd show you a dress I got in the end of summer sale at Rockabilly Pinup, it's another beautiful Hell Bunny dress and I absolutely love it! The meaning behind the title is that, yes ironic as it seems, I'm changing a little, to make myself happier; nobody else but myself. I've felt this past year my emotions and private life have really taken over and ruined the rest of my life, by making me sad and upset. Check out tomorrow's 'New Year Resolution' post for my new motto!

Hell Bunny Bobbi Lee Dress, Rockabilly Pinup - £38.99 (last in stock sale normally £44.99) (Can also buy here)

White Cardigan, Next - £8 (End of Summer Sale)

Cream Waist Belt, New Look - £5

Shiny Jewelled Heels, New Look - £5 (sale)

Pink Butterfly Clip, Beauxoxo - £6

For my hair I decided to do victory rolls - yes! I am really trying my absolute hardest at trying to face my fear of doing these. I'm never any good with fiddly hair styles but I'm slowly getting the hang of it! My makeup is pretty simple as always, black eyeliner with red and gold eyeshadow blended together along with my winter red lipstick from Rimmel in shade 107.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Oh my lordy, Christmas has been and gone and here we are on New Years Eve getting ready to Welcome in 2014! My family and me have a yearly tradition of listening to music, playing games such as Boggle and we always have a toast of Champagne at 12am!

We always have nibbles during the night so we tend not to have a big dinner, probably just a sandwich!

Well... Happy New Year and See you tomorrow for my first OOTW of 2014!!!!

Cuddles and Celebrations!

Blogmas Day 26: Presents, 1 Year of Blogging & The End!

This is my last post for Blogmas 2013!! How crazy quick has that gone?! Make sure you stay tuned for more posts in the new year, along with a new blogging schedule which is playing to my advantage between my personal life too! I thought I'd share some of the gifts I got for Christmas (and no I'm not showing off, I'm not a 'showing off' sort of person, so please don't take this the wrong way!)

1. Sewing Machine - I got the sewing machine I've been banging on about for god knows how long!! This means so many more exciting things for me - I may after a while start making my own clothes!!! I'm so happy with this, its made my complete life!!!

2. Soap and Glory Bath Set - My little brother bought this for me, he knows I love S&G so a very easy choice to make! I can never own enough S&G products anyway!! (My collection is forever growing!)

3. Betty Boop 'Dressed to Chill' Pyjamas - oh my complete life these are the comfiest things in the whole entire universe. The bottoms are a soft fleece material (I feel like a teddy bear in these, I don't even know why!) and the top is a soft cotton cream top with Betty Boop on it!

4. Betty Boop Set of Socks -  yes, the Betty Boop theme carrys on! I got some socks (cause I'm forever never able to find my socks!) and they are Betty Boop ones so its like perfection in sock form...

5. Simply Be Gold Christmas Bow Top - This is super cute to go with some of my more casual outfits that aren't full on rockabilly/pinup (yes I do dress down quite a lot, even though you may not believe me!)

6. Mary Berry Cookbook - we actually already own this book but my mum accidentally bought it again... At least I have my own copy!!

7. Back Seamed Black Tights - our close family friend bought me these, and oh my life, I am amazingly thankful!!!!!!!!!! Not many people would have even thought of this! Most people would be disappointed with tights - but me, I'm amazingly thankful, as these are super tough tights too!!!!

8. Billie Joe and Norah 'Foreverly' CD - This CD is complete perfection, much more folky and its actually a reinterpretation of the Everly Brothers Album 'Songs Our Daddy Taught Us'. This CD is beautiful, especially if you want to hear the other musical side of Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Highly recommend this CD!

9. Next Faux Fur Hood and Gloves - My aunt bought me these, and they are absolutely adorable! *waits for the snow to come to wear these*

10. Terry's Chocolate Orange Segments - Again from my aunt cause she always gives us chocolate!

I can't believe how this first year of Blogging has gone so quickly, one year on, 52 followers (and growing), I've had my first giveaway, I've done 26 consecutive days of blogging, starting to get into doing more YouTube videos and met some amazing people along the way!

Happy Birthday Anchors Away Beauty blog!!

Much love and cuddles and thank you for being a part of this - if it wasn't for you following my blog - I wouldn't have carried on doing it!

Lots of Love

Blogmas Day 20: Holiday is here!

So today I have finally finished college for 2013 and I can now begin to chill out for the next few weeks for Christmas and New Year! My last lesson today was English which I enjoy so much! English is like my most favourite subject in the whole wide world ever (apart from when I have to write essays...). The thought also dawned on me that this was my last college lesson of 2013... Scary stuff.

Oh well I can relax now and watch some Christmas movies...

What's your favourite Christmas movie? Mine at the moment (apart from Robbie the Reindeer!) has to be Arthur Christmas!

REMEMBER - 3 BITS OF STICKY TAPE! (You'd get it if you've seen the film...)

So close to Christmas now!

Blogmas Day 16: Candy Cane and Snowdrop Nails!

Today I'm doing a cute little nail tutorial on some super simple and adorable nails!

Step 1 Base Coat
First of all you want to select a red and green and paint your alternate nails in these colours. I decided to mix things up a bit and paint my thumbs grey to make them snowy nails! For the red I used Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly Polish in 'Blood Orange', Rimmel Lasting Finish nail polish in 'Green Grass', and Mavala nail polish in 'Warm Grey'. I applied around 2 coats for the red and grey and 3 for the green as the polish was not as pigmented as the other two polishes. I left mine to dry for about an hour to just make sure they were fully set.

Step 2 Adding the Effects!
Looking at the image above you can see for the candy canes I added just 2 lines per nail as mine aren't too long at the moment! I used a thin little make-up application brush, its super thin but I still managed to get a tonne of polish on the brush, but you can make your lines thinner if you wish! Then leave these to dry.
The thumbs are super simple as well, basically just apply different sized dots onto your nail and scatter them and be super generous but still being able to see the grey! You can make these predominant or make them very vague to represent snow or both like I did!

Step 3 Protect
Once you have let your nails dry again, you then want to get some clear nail polish just to protect the beautiful work you have just done! Et voila, you're done!

9 days till Christmas!!!!!!
