OOTW; Das Rock Haus Skirt Review

Today's OOTW is the first of 2015 and its a review of the gorgeous Das Rock Haus Olga Wrap Skirt!

OOTW

White Long Sleeved Top, Novelle - £8
Long Apple Pendant, New Look - £5 (discontinued)
Stone Patent Double T-Bar Pumps, New Look - £7
Coral Headband, New Look - £5

Review
When the lovely Fiza contacted me about reviewing a skirt for Das Rock Haus I immediately jumped at the chance! The choice of skirts are wonderful and they are all so pretty and beautiful! Fiza and me discussed which would be best and I had a look, but I fell in love with the Olga and I'm so thrilled with the way it looks. Seeing as the skirt came from Singapore, I expected what with the Royal Mail for the skirt to take a little while to arrive but it arrived in 5 days which took me by surprise! When the skirt arrived it came in this wonderful mesh bag, with the ribbons tied in a bow. I completely loved the presentation of the skirt too, it was just the extra touch that makes the difference!

The fastenings are hook and eye fastenings which I honestly love, it's a more comfortable fit and no buttons coming off or loose! All you need to do is, take your measurements and the skirt's fastenings are done to your measurements for a perfect fit - which I honestly LOVE! I always have a problem when it comes to the 'right' size on my waist, and I think this is the perfect idea for an amazing fit!

I honestly love the fit on my figure - I'm an hourglass (with a little extra sand!) and I really love how this comfortably sits on my waist and doesn't dig in when I sit down. The wrap around skirt also helps to weight the skirt down a little so no awkward moments of the skirt flaring up when its a bit windy. I'm not wearing any shape wear with this skirt either. This skirt will be perfect for the hot Spring and Summer to come!

The skirt is a light weight material with a gorgeous triple bow detail on the top hem of the skirt - its the perfect touch to this already stunning skirt!

I give the Olga Wrap Skirt a 10/10!

OOTW; Pretty Perfect

I'm back my lovelies! Feels like forever since I've posted here, even though its only been 2 months. So, seeing as we are now hitting Autumn/Winter I think its time to crack on with the warmer outfits - but we can still look stylish wrapped up too!

Just to let you know, I'm not doing a new Halloween Outfit for each week like last year, as sadly I don't have the time as I work full time & model part time now. (Sorry! I might be able to conjure something up though!)

Patsy Herringbone Skirt, Collectif - £72 .50
Alice Top in Pink - Collectif - £15
Cream Gail Bolero, Collectif - £45
White Lace Bobby Socks, eBay - £3
Pink Double Flower Clip, eBay - £4
Black Belt, New Look - £4 (in a pair)
Pixie Boots, Clarks - £50 (5 years old, now discontinued)
Ivory Pearl Necklace, Collectif - £15
So you can probably see I'm still very much obsessed with Collectif... I'm always in and out of the Brighton store now days, and slowly becoming part of the furniture!

Make-up
Face
Collection 16 hour Foundation in Ivory
Collection 16 hour Concealer in Ivory
2True Concealer in 01
Bourjois Blush in shade Rose D'Or
Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner
Bourjois Clubbing Liner (Liquid) - Ultra Black
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Bourjois 'Rouge Edition' Lipstick in Shade 03

Nails
Barry Hi-Shine Gelly Nail Polish in Greenberry (Green) & Grapefruit

I actually bought the skirt in the summer in Collectif when rumaging through the sale section in the Brighton Store, last skirt and in my size and I knew I had to have it! The skirt is a super thick Herringbone material and the quality is absolutely fantastic! It has a silk underskirt for that extra layer of warmth in the winter. The skirt is very heavy if I'm going to be honest, for some people this may raise an issue but not for myself personally. (I'm not sure if Collectif are bringing this skirt back for the AW14 Collection or not this year). I'm completely in love with the Alice top, its so basic yet so pretty and perfect to match with several different outfits! I just tied my hair up into a simple high ponytail and added a cute little flower clip for the perfect look. This look is so warm and cuddly that I totally can't wait for it to get a little colder so I can appreciate its cosyness even more!

Review: M&S Stockings and Hold Ups!

Hello my dears! Okay, so today's post is a review, I've been asked over on my twitter by some lovely plus size ladies what I thought about the stockings I had bought for some photo shoots.

I'm going to be honest here, I was more of a stockings and suspenders sort of person, however, when I tried on some hold ups for a photo shoot I had back in April I fell in love (and became slightly obsessed).

So I was a bit hesitant to actually go and buy hold-ups, y'know having thunder thighs and all. A friend recommend that I try the Big Tight's Company ; but I never got round to ordering, so I took a punt when I was in M&S and bought these in Black...
Sorry for my ill fitting bra in these... I was washing my bra's and this was the only clean spare one!
These are the 15 Denier Ladder Resist Shine Hold-Ups - these were only £5, so if they didn't fit there wasn't a huge amount of loss in money. I got mine in an XL, the biggest size they had, and they actually fit really well! They don't slip down when I walk, especially in public, which is an absolutely key factor when it comes to hold-ups. The stick adhesive is actually really good and does have a good stay, I only have to re-adjust every now and again so there is no qualms there.

After absolutely loving the ones in black I did go out and also buy them in nude, cause you can never go wrong with nude stockings/hold-ups am I right?! I never really thought I'd be converted, but I seriously am. I really enjoy the feel of these; and especially with the ladder resist side, my friend and me bought a tester pair and punched some holes in to see if they would ladder... They didn't! The product does exactly what it said it should; and I really love the fact that a girl who fits into size 22 jeans with thanks to my thunder thighs fits into these lovely hold-ups.

You can buy them here

10 Denier - Illusion, Black, Nearly Black, Cocoa, Natural Tan, Ivory, Navy.

15 Denier - Black, Nearly Black, Nude.

Shoes are from Peacocks - £18

My Favourite Top!

A little blog write up following my YouTube Video from the other week! As said, these tops compliment my bust and tummy amazingly and are so easy to style in different ways!

I have 2 of the Polka Dot Tops. One in Candy Pink and the other in Navy

Buy Here

I also have 2 plain, white and Black, for easy pairings with patterned skirts or for an office look with some cigarette trousers or swing trousers.

Buy Here

I also have 2 patterned tops, one which is a Black and Cherry top, new to the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, and the other being the red gingham top from last summer.

Cherry Top - Buy Here
Gingham Top - Buy Here

I just love the cut of these tops, and they are super complimentary to those with a bigger bust! I love the fact they also have a stretchy bit on the sleeves. You can either wear it with the sleeves up as normal or you can wear them off the shoulder (which by the way looks absolutely adorable!).

I'd definitely recommend this top - its one of my favourites and they are so easy to style with several different outfits!

OOTW; The Saturday Dress

The other week I went to the Brighton Vintage Fair and Decided to go shopping in Brighton afterwards! While walking through the lanes I arrived at my favourite stall, the one with all the pretty vintage dresses! Then this one caught my eye... I'd been eyeing this dress up for a while and it was only £30! When picking this dress up however I got my sizes completely wrong... I forgot that a large was a size 14 NOT 16... BUT IT STILL FITS PERFECTLY! Two in one!!!!

Saturday Dress, Hell Bunny - £30
(depending where you buy from)
Bow Tie Shoes, New Look - £5 (sale)
Hair Flowers, Amazon (Pack of 10) - £3.89
White Sunglasses, Bow and Crossbones - £6

I've put my hair in plaits quite a lot recently, and it just looks so cute! Because I'm growing my hair a little I've not been able to do this in ages! Anywho, on to my make-up I just went for a super simple look for this outfit and just had mascara and a little bit of pale pink lipstick just to go with the purple of the dress!

Seeing as my hair was in plaits I just decided to put a white and purple hair flower on each side for that extra cuteness and my white sunglasses just add to the retro style of this outfit!

I'm not wearing any shapewear/corset with this dress, and no bra as it holds the boobs up quite well!

Cheeky jumping shot too!!

Eeek, I'm just loving summer!

OOTW: Winter to Summer!

You may remember way back in January when I featured a winter outfit with the Collectif Blackwatch Skirt... In this weeks OOTW, I thought I'd show you what I've done to get a summer twist!

Peter Pan Collar Top, Primark - £5
Black Patent Frothy Soda Flat Shoes, Clarks - £44.99
Leopard Print Cat Eye Sunglasses, eBay - £8

For the summmer look I just paired the skirt with this cute little peter pan collar top, and its also perfect if you don't want to show too much cleavage. Its quite a light outfit too, so it keeps you nice and cool in the summer heat!

I did my hair in a style I've been doing a lot recently. Just taking some hair at the front and plaiting them round and clipping them at the back of my head - you can either leave the hair lose like I have here of pop it into a looped ponytail (watch here on how to do this!).

For my make-up its just a little bit of foundation and some mascara. Nothing too spectacular. I don't like wearing too much make-up in the summer cause of the sweat and that. (yuck.)

I've also resorted to my leopard print sunglasses as my black ones have broken and only just bought some new ones (yay) which are more expensive but awesome quality!

Anywho my darlings, I best be off for today! If you have any post suggestions do let me know!

OOTW: Oh My God Olivie!

Since probably about 2 years ago I've been pining over the Olivie, the reason I never bought it earlier was because A) I couldn't decide on which colour to buy first B) It wasn't available in my size. But I finally caved and bought the pink one seeing as I don't own many pink dresses!

Pink Paisley Bandana, Amazon - £2
T-Bar Heels, eBay - £15

I did my signature eyeliner, and I had white and pale pink eyeshadow blended out along with my neon pink Barry M lipstick!

I put my hair in a half up half down do. The up being a simple 60's bouffant along with my pink bandanna and the rest of my hair in its natural condition.

Recently I've been super in love with my parasol! I've always wanted one and I finally purchased this gorgeous one from Bow and Crossbones!!

Another technique I'm in love with is doing up the halter neck in a different way from normal, and its so cute! (And it makes me boobs look FAB!

Lots of love my gumdrops!

OOTW: Its Summer!

Back in mid March I had a little spending spree and I saw 2 beautiful dresses over on the Rockabilly Pinup website... I'd been eyeing them up for a while, and one of them was the red meriam dress!

White Cardigan, Next - £15

Black Belt, New Look - £5

Frothy Soda Shoes, Clarks - £44.99

Varied Size Pearl Necklace, Primark - £3

Pearl Bangles, Gift

Isn't this outfit just adorably cute?! I love it! Its so happy and summery! I'm totally loving the colour red this summer, I don't even know why! I think it might be a red and pink summer this year! I also love how the pearls compliment the white polka dots, its just cute!

Please excuse my rather weird face in this picture... Alice was chewing her leg (yes she was chewing her leg, please do not be alarmed, she is just odd) and I forgot I was taking a picture... BUT my make-up went awfully perfect for this outfit! I managed to get my eyeliner super thin as well, which makes me so happy its unreal (its the smallest things right?) My red lipstick is the Barry M creme lipstick in shade 151 - this just had a blue undertone in it which makes my teeth look whiter... AND IT MATCHES THE DRESS!

Okay I know I've already said it but this outfit is just CUTE!

Anywho... See you for my next post!

Lots of love my darlings!

OOTW: Summer Spots

I know you guys have seen this adorable skirt before, but sometimes I can't always afford a new outfit for every single day - and its so easy to fashion the same clothes in a different style!

Black Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £10
(Also here)
White Gold Button Collared Top, New Look - £8
(Discontinued)
Navy Polka Dot Liesel Skirt, Collectif - £46.50
Rockabilly Pumps, Babycham - £15
(Discontinued)

I just super love everything about this adorable outfit! You can also add a white cardigan over your shoulders if it becomes a little chilly or if there's a bit of a spring breeze! I'm totally enjoying this sunny weather we are having, it makes little old me so happy and cheerful and I just love to twirl around in pretty skirts in the summer!

This outfit is super light, and perfect for when we get some really hot weather, you could wear a petticoat with this skirt, but sometimes I prefer to wear it without (like above) because the skirt has such a lovely fit as it is!

My make-up is super plain today I've just got a thin winged eyeliner on its own, with foundation and a lip gloss I haven't used in what feels like forever! I've used the Mary Kay Nourishine Plus lip gloss in shade Beach Bronze as its super subtle but has a gorgeous shimmer to it! (You can buy it here!)

See you soon!

OOTW: Stella Sweetheart & Review

Today we have a 2 in one! My OOTW and my new dress!

OOTW

Cream & Navy Cricket Cardigan, New Look - £18
(Bought 4 years ago)

Cream Bobby Lace Socks, eBay - £2

Rockabilly Flats, Babycham - £15
(No longer available)

Varied Size Pearl Necklace, Primark - £3

Black Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £10

My make-up is the usual winged eye liner and red lipstick, however I've been recently experimenting with darker eye shadows and been working with more stone/neutral eye shadow shades. So here I have a natural tan eye shadow with a very pale grey in the crease blended out. My hair is actually 2 days old (yuck I know but I had an accident and had to keep my wounds dry for 48 hours!). 2 days previously I had set my hair in tight pin curls and after laying on it 2 nights in a row my hair still had loads of volume and still really wavy.

Review

I bought the Stella Sweetheart dress 2 weeks ago from my favourite brand Collectif (if you've been reading the blog for a while you'll know my collection is slowly growing) I've been awing over this dress for what feels like forever and I finally bought it in navy! This dress is super duper comfortable, its also super easy to wear with or without a petticoat. The texture is super soft and comfortable - I got this in a 22, mainly because I'm always suspicious with the fit on my bust with a lot of dresses, however I always have the option of tailoring my dresses for me with my sewing machine so thats no hassle.

Personally for me a really important factor in swing dresses is the 'twirl factor' if the skirt twirls really easily and its a winner... I love the Stella dress even more!!!!!!! I asked my friend to twirl me around while doing a bit of jive dance and it was such a nice flow on the dress!

A lot of ladies with bigger busts have spoken to me in the street about wearing halter necks, and for me personally I find them comfortable - again with the material that is used with the Stella dress, its super comfortable and doesn't pull on your neck too much either! The dress cinches in really well at the waist, and for me its the perfect dress to wear in the summer when it arrives! This dress looks like it could be a regular feature come my summer wardrobe!

Just a little reminder for those who have asked about seeing some of my modelling work make sure you head over to my facebook page  to go and see all my photos from my recent shoots!

Please excuse the cuts on my legs/ankles. I had a fall at my photo shoot on the 1st March and they are still clearing up!

OOTW: Too Pure To Be Pink!

Surely you can guess the theme of this outfit by the title... If not, its GREASE!!!

I've been so obsessed with Grease for some reason recently - I think I've watched it about 15 times in the past week and a half (its become serious) I know all the songs, the lines and everything. And then it possessed me to buy a poodle skirt. Also before anyone asks... "Danny or Kenickie?" It'd be Kenickie everytime!!!

Pink Poodle Skirt & Neck Scarf, eBay - £18.95

White Gold Button Collar Top, New Look - £8

Cream Belt, New Look - £5

White Petticoat (25"), Hell Bunny - £29.99

Black Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £10

Pink Glitter Hair Bow, Beauxoxo - £5

Rockabilly Flats, Babycham - £15
(No Longer Available)

My hair is 2 days old, with a bit of blonde dry shampoo in it, I had set it in pin curls 2 nights previous then slept on them the night before for a light wavy look. My eye-liner is the usual winged eye liner with a small dusting of pale pink eye-shadow blended through for a slight shimmer. I've changed it up a bit with my lips - instead of my signature red, my friend Ricky bought me a bright pink lipstick! This is the Barry M Cream Lipstick in 'Shocking Pink' and it definitely has a beautiful vibrant colour! The lipstick matches the outfit so perfectly! I definitely wanted to carry the "too pure to be pink" theme to the extreme, so my whole outfit was pink overload! My hair bow in my hair just pins it back slightly and adds an extra pink splash! The neck scarf also came with the skirt and its just a super soft material and so comfortable to wear!

Adding a petticoat gives this skirt the perfect twirl action! I have a habit of just spinning round when wearing petticoat and this picture explains exactly why! I love the way the skirt flows especially with the soft material used it makes the skirt have more movement. With the skirt being so inexpensive it makes me very happy to be wearing such a pretty outfit!

I also opted for flats instead of heels, (hear me out) - For this outfit, I think heels are just a little too much, I wanted flats as mainly in the film throughout the school scenes (apart from Sandy at the carnival and at the Dance Off) they mainly wear flats. And anyway, its good to have a break from heels every once in a while! This outfit also has a somewhat 'preppy' look to it as well! You could also match some pink or white bobby socks with the shoes if you wish!

And yes... I WOULD wear this to college!

Now here are some Grease Gif's I thought I'd share with you.

Well I hope you enjoyed today's OOTW and gifs! Cause it was sure super fun to shoot and dress up like this!

OOTW: Check out that Check!

I think because of the Gingham top I just get a country sort of feel to this outfit... I just super love this long black pencil skirt too! Its my absolutely favourite thing to wear atm, its so easy to pair up with all sort of outfits especially when you are in a rush!

Red Hair Flower (Pack of 10), Amazon - £4.99

Black Marilyn Sunglasses, Amazon - £9.99

Red Gingham Dolores Top, Collectif - £30

Black Long Pencil Skirt, Mums Wardrobe - £Unknown
(these were bought back in the 1970's - and they are in perfect condition, they were roughly around £5 each for the three I have).

Black T-Bar Heels, eBay - £15

My make-up is pretty basic, but I have just cream eye shadows on my eyes, with white in the middle and a really pale smudge red on the outside of my lid  with my black winged eye-liner. Seeing as the red is really dominant on my top and eyes I just used my Barry M red lipstick with a pink undertone for a soft but cute sort of look. My hair flower is just pulling some of my hair from the side of my face back for a cute and simple look.
Red seems to be a common theme in this outfit.

(I wore this outfit on one of my shoots so make sure you go to my facebook page to see the final images!)

OOTW: Lindy Bop Lois Dress

Yet another lovely dress from my favourite budget dress company... I couldn't help to not buy this dress in Lindy Bop's 25% off sale at the end of January and I had been eyeing up the Lois dress for quite a while now!

Lois Secretary 40's dress, Lindy Bop - £29.99

Leopard Print Headband, New Look - £5

T-Bar Heels, eBay - £15

Recently I've really been getting into the whole 1940's style and preppy sort of style. Just feels so natural and lovely, and this dress is the for-front of my outfit list at the moment!

OOTW: Death by Love... (Valentines Day)

Today's post is an outfit I'd possibly wear on a date for Valentines Day - even though I don't have a date I will just be wearing this on Friday because well, I'm single and just screw what the world thinks.

This outfit is a little more edgy (I'm feeling a little bit Psychobilly this week and will probably have my hair in a pomp too for a more hyperbolic look). I really kind of like the subliminal meaning in this outfit, for me it says "Love till the Death" seeing with the black and white roses and skulls on my skirt, I'm trying to be somewhat romantic... And failing?

Ivory Pearls, Collectif - £15

Black T-Bar Heels, eBay - £15

I just really like the fact that this outfit is not too girly and stereotypical, but also that it has that edgy feel. Love is made out to be something easy and you just 'know' and yes that's somewhat true, but love can be painful and it can ruin you (I found that out the hard way), and for me personally that reflects how love has effected me. For my make-up I have done simple make-up, with my normal winged eye-liner and my dark berry Rimmel lipstick; my eye-shadow is just a pale pink as this just makes my eyes pop a little more instead of having a really bold colour, I just chose to have my eye-liner thicker for a stronger look. For my hair in this picture I just have it tied up in a ponytail and rolled in on itself with a leopard print headband. But I may also just do a large pomp with my fringe for a more 'psychobilly' look.

Happy Valentines Day for Friday to you Singletons and those in a relationship!
(JUST BE HAPPY!)

OOTW: Darling Dots!

It might be quite obvious but I love polka dot's! Back in December, Collectif had a 50% boxing day sale and I got 3 new items (the other 2 previously shown in my OOTW back on the 8th January!) and the other skirt I got was the navy blue polka dot liesel skirt! This is a simple little look and super cutesy - I've been so busy this week that my effort in my fashion has slightly slipped, so this was an easy outfit to just throw together quickly early in the morning!

White Long Sleeved Top, Nouvelle - £12
T-Bar Heels, eBay - £15

I just love the simplicity of this look! Its adorable and preppy! I think the little bandana makes it that little bit extra cute! My make-up is just my normal winged eyeliner and I'm just wearing a plain lip gloss for a little shine! I do have a lot of comments about the expense of Collectif clothes - however I am paying for the quality of the product! (P.S Sorry my hair is a little greasy, I was just about to wash it and curl it!)

OOTW: Trip to London

Last Thursday I went to London with my best friend (and she's a photographer!). We've been friends for just over 6 years now, and we love to meet up and just wonder round London and end up in Soho and have a bubble tea (if you haven't had one, you haven't lived! They are amazing!). First of all, we went to Winter Wonderland which was amazing, and I got a Dalmation plush toy (his name is Toby) and then we just went for a walk. We went to Covent Garden and we visited my most favourite shop in the whole entire world... Collectif!!!! We had a lovely chat with the girl in there (and she was lovely!) and I also bought a new polka dot scarf!

OOTW: New Year, New Me

First OOTW and post of 2014! Scary how quick 2014 has come around... its a little daunting to be quite honest with you. I thought I'd show you a dress I got in the end of summer sale at Rockabilly Pinup, it's another beautiful Hell Bunny dress and I absolutely love it! The meaning behind the title is that, yes ironic as it seems, I'm changing a little, to make myself happier; nobody else but myself. I've felt this past year my emotions and private life have really taken over and ruined the rest of my life, by making me sad and upset. Check out tomorrow's 'New Year Resolution' post for my new motto!

Hell Bunny Bobbi Lee Dress, Rockabilly Pinup - £38.99 (last in stock sale normally £44.99) (Can also buy here)

White Cardigan, Next - £8 (End of Summer Sale)

Cream Waist Belt, New Look - £5

Shiny Jewelled Heels, New Look - £5 (sale)

Pink Butterfly Clip, Beauxoxo - £6

For my hair I decided to do victory rolls - yes! I am really trying my absolute hardest at trying to face my fear of doing these. I'm never any good with fiddly hair styles but I'm slowly getting the hang of it! My makeup is pretty simple as always, black eyeliner with red and gold eyeshadow blended together along with my winter red lipstick from Rimmel in shade 107.

Happy New Year!

Blogmas Day 9: Make Your Own Snow!

So today I thought I'd finally try out the 'Make Your Own Snow' I bought last year at Christmas but never actually used... I thought that I'd use this snow to put in my vases on my big chest of draws! Its a super simple thing to do - I bought my snow powder from my local Garden Centre for £4. All you have to do is add as much powder as you want into a bowl and then add (I think) it said about 1/5 of water from the amount of powder you have added. Me being not scientific me - I  just added the water to the point where it all just begun to start expanding....
You will need water, snow powder, and a bowl.
Then add your powder into your bowl... and add the water!!
I found it grew about 5 times bigger from the powder
form after adding about 30ml of water!

Overall I think this is super handy if you want a 'realistic' snow effect on a window display or in a vase... The only thing I will say that this has a major chemical/plastic sort of smell if you are quite close to it - and it really does not feel like snow, it feels more like polystyrene has been crushed into a sort of maybe watery powder form? But for visual purposes this is perfect for a Christmas display!!

16 days till Christmas!!

Lots of Love
