"Emma, Where Were You?"...

Image, MUA & Post-Processing - Chris Barnham Studio
Its been a little while hasn't it my dears? I do hope you enjoyed my first post back on Wednesday with the outfit. I thought today I'd just do a little catch-up post, a bit of a lengthy one, just so I can contain some of the things I've done over my 2 month break and whats going to be changing on the blog for the near future.

So... lets get the boring yet vital bit out of the way. The blog is going to change a bit, nothing huge or anything, but I just want to not restrict myself. What I mean is I don't want the blog just to be known as a beauty blog, a lifestyle blog, or a fashion blog. I want my blog to be about me and what I enjoy. So I'm probably going to do some posts which are slightly more personal, what I might be doing, my ideas, just thoughts, book reviews, I may even just post a simple picture post without any writing. Like an inspiration board, a positivity board etc. I want the blog to reflect me as a single person, not just the things I'm interested in.

The schedule is also changing ever so slightly... Instead of an outfit post every week, I'll be doing them every 2 weeks... Due to some reasons in my personal life, which are explained below, I won't have time to document an outfit a week or do a lengthy post on a saturday each week, so I hope this is okay!

As you know, I also took a break from modelling, mainly because I felt a lot of stress, paranoia and my self-confidence slightly getting to me, and honestly, I needed the break, its given me time to brain storm, re-think where I want to take my modelling, what I want to achieve. I only had one shoot during this time and it was with my regular studio who I work with (Barnham Studio), and again it was a short shoot where we got some simple work done. (Images below from shoot)

Being Fancy
Well on the 6th September, I ended up going to a fancy ball. And by fancy I mean, really fancy. Pretty much all the people there were wealthy, posh and they were wearing designer dresses, I felt like bursting into tears like I wouldn't fit in or anything, but I had never been welcomed so beautifully into a community. Despite not being rich or particularly posh I managed to grasp onto how to become a real lady that evening with thanks to Oscar who accompanied me and taught me some etiquette. Due to the prestige of the event I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the place we went to or the event itself, as they had professional photographers and such, but as we drove up the drive (and yes, we had a posh car thanks to my chaperone who is a bit well off, we didn't get the bus! We went in a black Mercedes, although I don't know what type, I'm a bit dumb when it comes to cars) the mansion was lit up in the dark night sky, we arrived at around 9.30pm and I had never seen anything more beautiful in my life, I'm glad I went for a simple look for this event.

I was taught how to dance in a long formal dress, I was taught about classical music, as to which I now can't stop listening to (Pachelbel's Canon in D Major is definitely one of my favourites now!), I was taught all about the cutlery, how to eat properly, and a whole host of other things. And the best part was, the fact we had a very rich entrepreneur and his utterly gorgeous wife on our table, they helped me and spoke to me as if I were one of them. They even told me I'd be perfect to have a rich husband... still hope for me yet!

I kept my make-up super simple, and even opted to wear no eyeliner to try and be as natural as possible. I used 2 concealers, a tinted moisturiser, Collection Foundation for my face along with the Bourjois Rose D'Or blush. I stuck to a soft champagne and soft pink for my eye shadows to reminiscence elegance but to also just make my eyes pop a little, I used a light brown in the crease, and slightly blended out towards the outer eye for a small smoky effect. I just used a simple gold lip gloss on my lips. And I just used my Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara on my lashes. I wore tear-drop earrings, starting with pale blue crystals and the last pendant was black which then flowed perfectly into my dress with the blue responding to my blue eyes. For my hair I went for a back combed side bun, very elegant and very easy to do. This whole look was achieved in under an hour, all by me. Not bad if I say so myself!

I got a new job!

Remember I got really fed up with my old job, which had rubbish pay (and by rubbish I mean below minimum wage). I worked about 39/40 hours a week, despite my contract which they breached and my wage per annum was about £9,500 just below. However, now I have a new job at a place I'm really excited about working at! My wage after tax is about £13,800 pa - which is a HUGE increase!
I do have to become a real financial bore now though, seeing as I need to start saving for a deposit to move out, I need to start a pension fund for when I'm older etc. So, things are getting real, I'm finally an adult. I'm not really THAT excited about it, but we all have to grow up... I guess.

The Blog
Yes I finally gave the blog another make-over... I might even stay with this one... who knows! I hope you like it! I've gone for the white. black and red approach. I don't know why, the pink just bored me a bit I guess!

A-Level Results
So I got my English Language A-Level result in August. I wasn't hugely pleased with it, but I was never an exam person anyway, I did do really well in half the exam though and got an unexpected high score in it but the other seemed to be less great. Despite my slight (expected) disappointment - I've decided I still want to carry on writing and doing reviews and stuff like that! So I thought of also encorporating articles into this blog as well as more reviews, like film, books, and other things like CD's which may take of interest too. Let me know if that is something you'd be interested in, or anything you want me to do!

Well I think that's it, I'm doing a picture post of my holdiay soon and now planning posts to put up for you guys!!

OOTW; Coral

So yesterday I popped to town, and my local Peacocks shop had a half price mid-summer sale! Happy Days! So I got a top, which is loose and baggy because of the hot weather, but I also got this rather beautiful dress!

Coral Peter Pan Dress, Peacocks - £16 (£8 on Sale)

Black Waist Belt, New Look - £2.99

Coral Bow Head Band, New Look - £5

Red and White Becca Bag, Collectif - £35

White Bow Wedges, Simply Be - £35
This outfit is simple, but really lovely and light for the heat we are having right now! My make-up is also just a little bit of white and 2 pink eyeshadows blended together with mascara and a tinted moisturiser which has SPF 15 in it too. Its just a little too hot for make-up and wearing lots of heavy clothing!
I just kept the whole outfit simple and effective, its perfect for strolling round the shops and also perfect for a business meeting, this dress is perfect for a number of different situations and definitely a good buy!

Hope you have a fab day my lovelies!

Lots of Love

The Fear of the Swimsuit Kind...

If you know me personally, you've probably never seen me wearing a swimsuit. This is genuinley no word of a lie... The only time I actually put one on was for my Body Confidence post way back in October. But I finally decided to face my fear head on... and actually buy a swimsuit! In fact I actually bought 2!!!!

I'm going to be really honest about this now, I still don't feel as if I feel 'okay' in a swimsuit, I still feel nervous and still feel as if people stare at me funny if I wear one out in public. But I need to fight my fear, if I don't fight it now then I probably never will!

(Please bare in mind I took this images about 8 weeks ago but only got round to doing this post, I have lost weight in this time too).

The first swimsuit is this floral coral halterneck swimsuit from Peacocks, for £12 in a size 20. What I really like about this swimsuit is probably the fact that the bust actually is underwired, which is a god send for my boobs. The halter neck is an adjustable tie it yourself so you can have it give as much or as little support as you wish. I do really like the design of this swimsuit, and it is very feminine.

The second swimsuit is from M&Co and this is just adorably retro and cute (and its polka dots and we all know I love polka dots).
I do feel a little more 'exposed' to my body in this swimsuit, and I do struggle looking at the mirror when wearing them. I think the mindset of not knowing what I look like helps me not realise my fear as much and what happens 'happens'. But overall the swimsuit is really nice, it is rather clingy so if you feel paranoid about your problem areas then bare this in mind. This is partially like a swimdress with the frilly skirt which sits on the hips. I got this in a size 20, I would like to lose a little weight to feel better in this costume but otherwise its really nice!

You can get the M&Co Swimsuit here along with other beautiful clothes & swimwear on their site!

I am hoping to get another swimsuit soon, so I might review that if it comes before I go on my break!

Love you lots

Blogmas Day 17: Emma Bakes Simple Shortbread!

Today's video is a baking tutorial! I have never ever done a baking video or tutorial video on my YouTube before so I thought I would! I also have the recipe below if you want to try and make the Shortbread yourself! This is pretty much fool proof - not even I could screw it up and I'm really not a baking pro!

RECIPE:
100g of Butter
100g of Plain Flour
50g or Caster Sugar
50g Semolina

1. Put your oven on 160C (lower if you have a fan oven). Blitz in a food process of bring all the ingredients together in a bowl using your hands (Don't forget to scrub them!!)

2. Roll out your dough onto a floured work surface and choose your cookie cutters. You want your dough about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and then cut with your cutters.

3. Then get a tray with greaseproof paper to put your shortbread on and bake for 20-25 minutes.

4. Leave to cool and then sprinkle sugar on top and transfer to a wire rack.

5. Voila - its time to eat!

ONLY 8 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!

Lots of Love

Blogmas Day 5: House Decorations

Today's post is probably quite similar to Tuesdays post in the fact its gonna be a tonne of pictures of what me and my mum have done decoration wise downstairs for the whole family!

This is the first view you get when you come down the stairs. So
many pretty lights!!!!!!

We put these red lights by the front windows and ice white on the
plant. Festive exotic plants!

This window has by far got to be my favourite. Our little gingerbread family!
The warm white lights just make it so magical!

The ceiling to floor entrance window all jazzed up with some snowflake window stickers
these are on all the windows downstairs & ice white lights!

My mum has always wanted nutcrackers - because of having not many decorations
in the kitchen (Safety and all) we have these on the windowsill.

Aren't these adorable and so vintage?! Bought these 7 years ago
and still look fantastic!

My little elf, robin and tree display by the hi-fi and CD/DVD storage. Too adorable!

By the front window we have this gorgeous lit up and rotating Christmas tree -
This is 9 years old and is still works perfectly!

My mum bought this St.Nick 13 years ago from BHS - we both love him so much!
I know it was another picture post, but I just thought it'd be lovely to share! Also we are getting out tree this weekend which means at some point I will do a post on that Christmas tree maybe. The tree is going to be in the middle of the 5 bi-folding doors and my mum and myself will be decorating it!

20 Days till Christmas!

Coco kisses and cuddly hugs!

Weekly Overview; 15th September!

Another Sunday?! *Sigh*...

Today I am going to this Gurkha restaurant place for my brothers birthday (which is on Tuesday), to be quite honest I can't really be bothered to go out today, I don't really like going out on Sundays, as they are a day to relax before the rest of the week. Afterwards I'm probably going to take all my make-up off, go to bed and do absolutely nothing - although I might do a make-up review of some new concealers/foundation I've bought!

Monday I have college from 10.40 - 5, means I won't get home till 7pm, and I'll probably be a grumpy mess so I doubt I won't be doing much, unless I have homework, which I will get done.

Tuesday College again, I have a meeting with my tutor at 10.40 till 11, which means I'll have an hour and a halfs break and then my Health and Social lesson and then Media at 3.40. I will be going to football at Millwall tonight! Yay!

Wednesday I HAVE THE DAY OFF COLLEGE... YAYAYAYAYA! I get every Wednesday off, so this is probably my favourite day of the college week... I will do my OOTW, do the food shopping, and all my other bits and bobs.

Thursday I have college from 10.40 till 3.20, and I have to get the 4.20 bus, which is always packed with students from the college so I'll probably end up standing up for my 50 minute bus journey (add annoyed face here)...

Friday I have to get up at 5am... Too. Much. Effort. I have college from 9am - 3.20, so I will probably come home and just collapse into my bed.

Saturday I have a photo shoot in London with an up-coming photographer who needs to build his portfolio so I'm super looking forward to this!

Well I might be doing a bonus post tonight, to post either tonight or tomorrow night - so look out for that!

If you want to keep up with all my litle goings on in the week make sure you follow me on Twitter (@EmmaVictoriaaa) and if you aren't already follow me on here via GFC or Bloglovin'!

Blog Schedule Update! *Boring Post- Sorry!!*

RIGHT! This is a super duper boring post, but it needs to be done as I've devised a new schedule for my blog as my timetable for college is all a bit of a pa-lava!

I will now be blogging on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday - SUNDAY will be my Weekly Overview, which remains as normal. The main factor which is changing is my Tuesday post - my OOTW is now going to be posted on a WEDNESDAY as this is when I have a day off from college. My non-structured post will be on a FRIDAY - these posts consist of tags, make-up tutorials, little chats, advice & experience etc posts. This will take affect from the SUNDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER.

This year at college is super important and I really need to get good grades to go to uni, which means I can't blog as much as I would like to! However, I have managed to create an easy rota which means I'm still frequently posting but it also is friendly to my college timetable!!

My next post will take place on Sunday with my weekly overview and will follow my new schedule. I do have a topic for my Friday post which will be the 'My First Time' Tag which the lovely Amna from ASQGenerates told me about on twitter! I also have in mind a haul to do of all the stuff I have bought recently (I've really bought way too much stuff) - however this may come in form of a YouTube video!

See you Sunday!

Weekley Overview; 18th August & Blog Break!

I'm writing this as my nails are drying and trying to cool my anger over the neighbours who live at the back... They are having a massive party, with strobe lights (which are beaming into my room) and very loud music. Looks like I'll be ringing the police non-emergency number after 11pm! Anyway, lets try and relax...

Me wearing glasses... Opinions?!
Today I spent finishing the cleaning and starting packing! I've had a really bad back all day so not much has really happened!

Monday I am getting up early to go for a run (yes, me, running...amazing). and then coming home to have a shower and then finish packing to go to London!!! I'm going to London with my best friend for a couple of days!

Tuesday My friend and me are going to the One Direction Film Première and then we are going to see a show and get last minute tickets!

Wednesday I come from London (insert sad face here) and coming home! I am doing a small solo set at a local pub, all acoustic, just piano, acoustic guitar and me! I'm really looking forward to doing a set were its not all up tempo and its more relaxing and emotive! That's when I feel I get into my music the most!

Thursday During the day is just relaxing and getting my voice back in tip top condition. I'm also planning on seeing another best friend of mine and going to the cinema (we've yet to finalise details, but follow me on twitter to keep up to date with me and what I'm doing during the week!)

Friday I'm probably going to be doing all the cleaning again, I have some work planned to do as well, so its just a chill out day and relax! I may also be looking at possibly buying a sewing machine so I can start making some of my own clothes!

Saturday I have lots planned to do! I wont bore you with all the details, but I have new song ideas and some new lyrics to write down, and write up new set lists! So much exciting stuff is happening!

Blog Update I'm also having a blog break this week due to being away and because I've been blogging every week since January I just need a little break to get some new ideas and to get some stuff done! I will be back next Sunday for my next weekly overview and again back on schedule till I start my new schedule from 8th September!

See you next sunday my lovelies!!

Lets Confess...

I'm feeling in one of them mood's when its time to get things off my chest, instead of bottling them up. And time for you to find out a little more about me...

- I'm always asked if my blonde hair is natural, yes it definitely is.

- I have an obsession with fresh orange juice, its pretty serious.

- When I get upset, I like to cut myself off from everyone, phone off, laptop off, and music on.

- I'm awful with telling people how I really feel, and always seem to bottle things up.

- If someone tells me to go to the doctors, it'll take a good 2-3 weeks for me to definitely decide I need to go to the doctors as I now only count myself ill enough.

- I hated secondary school, and apart from 4 people, I pretty much couldn't stand anyone else.

- I loved primary school, till I left, I met some of the most amazing and lovely people there.

- I don't want to turn 18.

- I sometimes feel really alone, like I'm never good enough.

- I love orchids and carnations, they are probably my most favourite flowers in the world.

- I seem to be attracted to Swedish/Scandinavian musicians.

Is there anything else you want to know about me? Leave a comment below, and if I get enough questions, I shall make another post!

Weekly Overview; June 16th & Life Update!

Hello you lovely lot!

Its that time of the week again, where I will tell you all about my forthcoming week, but its also time for a life update (we aren't including my episode of Horror Wednesday, which you can read here if you really want to!).

Today - Well seeing as its Father's Day, I'm being kept super busy. My gifts which I ordered (over a week ago!) still haven't turned up *sigh*. But I am cooking my dad Dinner tonight (a Chicken Makhani Curry - thank you Hairy Bikers Cookbook for saving my butt). I have already cut the grass today, which has fired up my hayfever, and then I need to do some boring singing training stuff, cause I'm trying to recover my voice and get it back to its normal self before next weekend! Exciting!

Monday First of all, I get a lay-in... yay! I'll probably get up at 9am (that's a lay in for me so shh!) and cut the front lawn, then I will probably mope around, have a shower and get ready for college at 2, with my favourite teacher Lisa! I finish at 3.20 but won't get home until 5pm, cause public transport really hates me. Then I have my dreaded singing lesson! I won't be able to talk much of Tuesday, so that should be super interesting.

Tuesday Well, the original plan was for college, but considering little old me fell ill with pneumonia last year so I need to go to hospital and see my doctor for my check-up to see how my lungs are functioning! After I will probably mope around at home and do absolutely nothing.

Wednesday I have to get up at 5am, UGH. Too much effort is required for this, but I have to do it, so no point complaining I guess! I have college from 9am-12pm, and my mum will be picking me up cause I completely forget that I don't get home till 2pm with public transport and I booked a driving lesson for 1.30... Good one. And then afterwards, I will be going on a DATE. Yup, an actual date, with a guy. (All shall be explained in the life update below!).

Thursday I am working, from 6am - 12pm, and then college from 12.30 -1.50! The joys of being a working student... Afterwards, I have band rehearsal! Yup, a 3 hour rehearsal for a big gig Saturday night! I will probably come home, have a sandwich, and again have an early night's sleep. Also, I begin doing my gig prep, so that means no alcohol, or no dairy products until Saturday!

Friday I get a lift to college and back home! College is from 10.40 till 12 which hopefully means we will be looking at the Stray Cats and Polecats in media (fingers crossed!). Today will just be another day of resting my voice as much as I possibly can.

Saturday Today will be spent driving to London and setting up, to perform at a Rockabilly wedding! We have been hired by the lovely Claire and Rick to perform at their wedding reception, which is around 250 people! Claire saw us live when we performed way back in December at the local Social Club in front of a tiny crowd no more then around 40 people. So, we really can't thank the lovely couple enough for asking us to play!

Now, with the weekly overview over and done with I can update you all about my life! Okay so lets start with the fact that since around July last year, I've not felt happy once, I never saw a point to anything and can't even name one time within that period to around last week when I was happy. After, all my friends nagging me, I finally went to the doctors, it was when I was told I was depressed. Me being, typically me, I thought 'there is no way I'm depressed, other people have problems far worse then mine and cope absolutely fine' my doctor who was super concerned cause this has gone on for a while, and for the fact I have a moderate form of Severe depression, he wants to nail it now, before I get any "worse". So last week I went to my counsellor for the third time, and now that he has finally got me to actually talk about my problems, I can begin to move forward. Many of you know from previous life posts (just look through the blog) that I really don't have much luck with relationships and the fact I have felt hurt by this one person for months. I am so happy to admit, I have moved on. For me, this is a huge step forward to be happy again and over these past 2 weeks, I'm beginning to feel happy again! I have only spoken to the guy who has hurt me, twice over the past 2 weeks, which is a huge achievement to before when I struggled to go a day without talking to him. I also stuck to my guns, and sticking by my word and not giving in all the time and always feeling like I need to apologise to make everything 'okay' with everyone, when it really isn't. I also saw my best friend Charlie again after going months without seeing her! Now, I have also started dating a lovely chap, who also loves rockabilly and is passionate about playing the double bass. However, for now, I want to keep things private and between us, until we are ready to go public about it all! Being back at college is helping me a great deal, especially with my great aunt passing away last Tuesday. There will be ups and downs however, I'm not afraid to admit that I was depressed BUT now I am getting better, its only up from here!

I'm sorry for the super long post, but part of my recovery is to admit to other people that I was depressed, not only to myself. If you ever want to talk about things, no matter how silly it is, please just leave me a message in the comments or via my blog email (anchorsawaybeauty@hotmail.com).

Lets Start YouTube!

You are probably thinking 'this is Emma's second post today... what's going on?!'. Let me explain!

I had the snap decision today (for some very strange reason) to do a YouTube channel in relation to my blog! I had some ideas for some tags and product reviews which I can post on here as well as on YouTube, lets say, broadening the empire?

So please give it a little look, this is just the little Welcome message to my channel, but there will be more bits and bobs to come!

What Could've Gone Wrong... Went Wrong.

Wednesday could have been one of the worst day's I've had in a while. To begin with, I had the devastating and sad news my Great Aunt Grace passed away, even though she was 90, it doesn't make getting over it any easier. So that automatically put a downer on the day along with the rain storm and having to wake up at 5am. *Sigh*.

When getting off the bus, I made a complete idiot of myself, with the floor of the bus being absolutely drenched, I managed to slip and hit my head against one of the poles on the bus. However, I had a lovely gentlemen, who restored my belief there are still gentlemen in this world! He got up, not to get off, to help me up and offered to pay for a taxi for me to get to Lewes so I wouldn't have to catch the train. How sweet, huh?! Being the independent lady I am, I decided it's better if I just walk it off and get the train to save myself from any more embarrassment.

To be quite honest, college went okay apart from the fact I kept yawning and my phone kept vibrating in my bag cause people kept calling me! Everything was going so well, until... I started walking to the bus stop in Lindfield. I get the train to Haywards Heath from Lewes, but because my train times and bus times don't work very well, I walk to Lindfield and catch the bus back home from there... Well just over halfway to Lindfield, the strap on my floral satchel bag (which you can see in my creative for college OOTW here) snapped. Yup, it just snapped off the side of the bag... So, now I had to walk in a dress, in the heavy rain, with my bag looking like a homeless person carrying all my belongings. I then in that time managed to lose my bus pass! It really wasn't my day!

After getting in, I then did myself some dinner (yup, I am counting a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich as dinner) and after thinking 'I can just get into bed and everything will be fine' the bulb in my lampshade decided to blow...

Going back to my satchel strap snapping, I'm super unhappy about this, mainly because all I had in my bag was an empty folder, 3 pens, a small paper writing pad, and my purse... So nothing too heavy. This was the LYDC Floral Satchel bag, and to be quite honest after only using this bag for 3 days, and then it breaking, its really put me off buying another one of their products. I bought this bag for around £25, for then it to break after a little bit of weight in the bag, I am super upset.

Lets hope the rest of the week can only get better??

Tomorrow I shall be posting up my next budget beauty buy so please keep an eye out for that on my blog and twitter! I will also be writing a guest blog post on Stephanie Maverick's blog, so also keep an eye out for that on her blog!

Much Love

What's That Smell?!

Good Day my fellow beauties! How are we all?! I hope you are feeling fantastic!
Today I thought I would share with you all my favourite fragrances which I own!

Yes, I have to admit I am one of them ladies who prefers the Eau de Parfum (EDP) to the Eau de Toilette (EDT), this meaning that the EDP is dearer then the EDT; which for little old me who can't always afford EDP I usually savour each bottle of perfume I buy!

Lets have a look at some of my favourite body spray fragrance's first!

1. Okay, so I am an absolute sucker for Soap & Glory Products; and these body sprays are absolutely no exception! I tend to wear the 'Mist You Madly' (Pink) most days when I am going out shopping, to work etc. On the packaging bottle it says "A flirty floral fragrant body spray" which it most definitely is! The scent of this body spray is to die for and I always find pairing this with a floral dress always gives you a girly and beautiful feel about yourself which can always lighten and brighten your mood if you are feeling a little low!  The next is the 'Glam-A-Lot' (purple) spray, this is described as "Soft and Sexy Fragrant Body Spray", this spray I tend to wear if I am going on a date or seeing a guy I particularly like; it has a musky tone to this spray, and tends to work like a perfume to me! The scent lasts for absolutely ages, I tend to spray some on my clothes as well as my body, and the scent will still be there the next morning! I think this one definitely lives up to 'soft and sexy'! The last one of these 3 is the 'Girligo' which is a moistursing body mist, I tend to put this on after I have had a shower or if I am feeling a little low or tired I put this on just before going to bed as this just helps to give your skin a soft feel and lovely smell! I find that this body mist has a floral undertone as well as one which makes you feel refreshed and revived!

2. The next body sprays I'll be looking at are the Impulse body sprays; I tend to have one of these in my handbag or in the car for an emergency freshen up (Example - On a long car journey and about to pop into the services or just getting to the hotel/relatives house)! I tend to stick to the same 2 of the Impulse range; the first being the 'Into Glamour' Spray; I find that this spray is quite a floral and citrus scented spray which I find is always perfect for summer or a night out! This spray is quite strong so you never need to use too much and I find that any of the Impulse sprays seem to last for a lot longer then you'd probably think! The next spray is the 'Tease' spray which smells quite exotic and fruity compared to the 'Into Glamour'spray. The fruity scent to this spray is just so yummy and I absolutely adore it! You can find these little sprays anywhere on the high street if you are in desperate need to freshen up and make yourself have a beautiful scent!!

Okay so now moving onto Perfumes, sadly which I am slowly running out/finished some of these and then need to re-purchase them!

1. Paco Rabanne 'Black XS' EDT - I adored the smell and aroma of this perfume, it was  musky and just had a beautiful dark sort of smell to it! It was such a 'sexy' and 'sassy' sort of perfume, which I could just not stop wearing every single day! It was all thanks to my friend Beth from college who actually introduced me to this perfume as I asked her what she was wearing one day and said this! This small bottle of EDT usually lasted me around 2 months (if used sparingly) but if I used a lot it used to only last a month and a half! The smell always seem to last all day instead of being really beautiful for about 2-3 hours and the smell fading, I could put this on at around 6am and still have the same aroma at around 7pm when I'm home from work and college!

2. Dolce & Gabbana 'The One' EDP - Lets start with the fact that I love this perfume and I seriously cannot get enough of wearing it! However, the sad part is I cannot actually afford to keep buying it to wear it all the time! I have probably bought this about 3 times already in the box set with the body lotion, (which for the sake of it, also smells amazingly gorgeous, and my ex-boyfriend even commented on how beautiful the smell of it was!) I generally buy my perfume from either The Perfume Shop (if I can get there) or from Boots in my local town for about £50, (including the lotion). The smell of this perfume is just so devine, it has a warm sort of smell to it and not too over-powering like it would knock your nose for six! It has floral tones which gives a fantastic smell if you like wearing a lot of floral dresses and items of clothing like myself! I find this perfume is great for either going down the road with the girls or going out for a meal with that special guy! Perfection in a perfume!

To be quite honest with you, perfume wise, I haven't ventured much out of my comfort zone or from what I know and what I like... I always used to wear body sprays but over the past year I've been wearing perfume more, as it lasts longer and the smell lasts longer then body sprays! When I purchase or look at any more I shall notify you lovely lot, but until then this rounds up the 'smelly' blog! I hope you liked it! Short and Sweet... Like me! Except not sweet? Hmm..

I'd love if you could check out my lovely friend Stephanie's post about her favourite Spring Scents - its so sweet!

Much Love and Many Wishes

I Am Not Afraid To Walk This World Alone...

Hello my beauties! If you follow me on my Facebook or Twitter you will know that I have been away this week, hence why I haven't been blogging and the merry month of March has been a month I have been tight with money, so not many hauls to share with you!

However, I really thought I better write to you lovely lot, as you seem to take the time and read my blog, whether its about my beauty and fashion or whether I am feeling deep... Much like I am today.

So you are probably thinking what the title is all about, so let me explain. The past couple of weeks have been hard, and I have had to come to terms with a lot of stuff, I can't say publicly what some of these are, but honestly, they got me down... So lets explain.

Since around mid-February, I felt everything was crashing down around me, I cried, and I did the worst thing possible... Pretend everything was okay, not talk to anyone. I put that smile on my face, not the happy one... The "look happy and no one will realise what's going on inside" smile. Lets explain the title... What made everything much worse, was the fact my favourite band My Chemical Romance split - (if you didn't know many years ago I used to be into rock and heavy rock music and fashion, I wore a lot of black and heavy make-up, super short hair with an emo fringe...) Even though I no longer sported my 'Black Parade' themed fashion, MCR's music has got me through a lot of tough times, to then have them split, broke my heart. The title is lyrics from the chorus of one of my all time favourite MCR songs 'Famous Last Words' ... So, what did I do? I escaped, I ran away and I took everything into perspective. This week I went away to see my lovely friend in Leicester where we both went to see Olly Murs in Cardiff (sidenote; Olly was absolutely outstanding, even if he did rip his trousers and trip on stage.. Twice.) And by getting away from home for 4 days, not confronting the things that got me down, I then had the chance to understand what was happening and going on. Now, I'm back, when I was away, something followed me, and you know what I did? I ignored it. I rose above it. My subconscious became my friend, telling me "Sweetheart, you don't need to do this to yourself. You are better then this, and you are perfect, whether everyone or no one sees that, you are p-e-r-fect".

So my advice for you?

1. Love - If you get down over love, especially at my age, pick your tiara/crown up off the floor, you are young and you have your whole life ahead of you! I know everyone says it, but honestly, you are so young, there are millions of people in the world, and there is someone for everyone, the only things you need to do is focus on is you and make yourself perfect for YOU, nobody else! You are stunning and gorgeous no matter what anyone says! So what you don't have the perfect teeth or the skinny figure with the big boobs and butt, but really, who wants to be a Barbie doll, when you can be you?!

2. Trendsetter - For me especially this is the most important, don't stress if someone does something you uniquely do, its flattery! If someone copies your shoes, your dress, your make-up "your look" see it as a compliment! Maybe they think what you have done is good and they want to give it a go, don't see it as bad! You are the trend setter, be proud of that!

3. Music - Personally, music is a very important part of my life, as said above when MCR split, my heart shattered into a million pieces, but just cause the band split doesn't mean their music won't stop inspiring me and mending my wounds when I'm hurt. Especially now. On Sunday before I went away, I wore my Black Parade jacket, as if it were a bandage to make everything better, and honestly, it was a security blanket. The jacket gave me so much joy and happiness when I was younger and gave me so much inspiration, to which I can only thank MCR for. However, if you are down, my biggest, and maybe most important tip would be, don't listen to sad or depressive songs, they really will only make you feel worse - easier said then done I know (hypocrite of my own words at times, but truth must be told!) Listen to happy songs, that make you feel better! They will cheer you up! Pick a song that has a happy memory to over-ride the bad thought!

4. You are YOU - This is probably the most important tip. Never, EVER, let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough. I have let too many people walk over me, tell me I'm not good enough or I wont be good at something... Prove them damn wrong! You can be whatever you want to do, if you put your heart and soul into it! Never let one person deny you a world of opportunities, and maybe if you are the one with doubt... Prove yourself wrong! 'Cause really, you can do anything you dream of, there really is no limits!

5. Wounds need time - I am a victim of my own crime. Lets say for an example, you accidentally cut yourself with a knife while preparing dinner, the cut won't disappear once it is ran under cold water. Wounds have a process...
  • Open wound - this is when the wound is first created, everything around that wound hurts, no matter how much you try to deter it away.
  • Protection - Even when you apply a bandage or plaster to the wound, it doesn't make it disappear. It only helps to protect the wound from any more damage that may cause more pain.
  • Pain - The wound may sting or be painful, the damage has already been done, there is nothing you can do, everything up till now is uncontrollable...
  • Healing - Until now... In my view you can take the healing process in two ways.        1) Positive - You can turn every negative into a positive, you turn everything bad to good. You start with yourself - look happy and be happy. Your appearance can not only reflect your own feelings but can also make an effect on other peoples. Over-ride the bad with the good!  2) Negative - You see everything as bad, and the pain lasts longer then you want it to. You take everything good away from yourself and replace it with bad, healing seems a far far place away from where you are now. You are digging yourself in a hole you can't get out of alone... You need positive to give you a helping hand...
Honestly, these past couple of weeks I've been in a bad horrible place, I won't lie to you. Healing doesn't happen overnight, in fact it can take weeks or months, sometimes it may leave a scar, but even if it does just say to yourself "If it wasn't for this scar, I wouldn't be where I am now". I hate seeing people down and upset, whether I know them or not. I want people to know I am there for them, yeah I'm not a professional at this, but really who is? I learn from my own life experiences, even though everyone's experiences are different, the wounds take the same process to heal. So hold your head up high, things take time, and you have to allow that time to get yourself into that better place.

I want you to know, whether we know each other or not, that I am here for you. I am that shoulder for you to cry on, to try and help you through. Never let someone's words bring you down, they are just words.

And again, the Famous Last Words

"I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone."

Sending you all lots of love

Emma Victoria

The Fringe...

Just before the locks were copped!
Good Evening from a blizzard like UK! The snow has just not stopped coming down! Meanwhile I bare some good beauty news! I finally got the courage to get my hair re-styled into a sophisticated... Yes, you have read right, sophisticated bob! The image on the left was taken just before I had my haircut by my fantastic hairdresser Laura, in the image I am wearing a beautiful Oversized Pink Gingham Rockabilly Bow from Beauxoxo which I absolutely adore!!

All Change!

The image on the right shows my hair after it has just been beautifully styled! I decided I would go for some 'bangs' - yes this is actually the technical term! I absolutely love my new hairstyle and I hope you do too! I didn't actually have any length taken off my hair, just the split ends out, and my layers re-done, as well as my fringe being cut in!

I hope all you beauties are well, and stay beautiful!

Love and Hugs

Emma

Bargain Buy - Electric Blue Heels

Yesterday morning I popped into my local town to run some errands and meet up with some friends and I, who I am always up for a brilliant bargain went into the Salvation Army Charity Shop. As per always I went straight to the shoe section (which is right next to the hair accessories section!) saw these beautiful shoes!

These shoes are an Electric Blue Patent Platform heel. These are quite high at around 9cm; but with the platform the shoe doesn't actually feel as high as they look! I am one of those people who can't physically wear heels all day long and get no pain whatsoever. My feet will ache, but these shoes feel as if they are padded in the actual inside of the shoe! I bought these beautiful shoes for just a small £4.99!

These shoes and me were just meant to be! I got these shoes in a size 5 1/2 (UK size!) which is my exact shoe size!

Proof that going to charity shops are the way forward in fashion!
