OOTW; Winter Polka Dotty

Seeing as we are approaching cooler climates now its starting to get near Christmas - which always means I get super excited. However, I still have a lot of meetings to go to for various things I do, so I need to look smart yet stylish. Way back in July I think it was, Collectif had a huge sale and I bought this lovely dress, and its absolutely perfect!
Blue Crochet Multiway Bra, Simply Be - £32 (No Longer Available)
Blue Crochet High Waisted Briefs, Simple Be - £18 (No Longer Available)
Red Polka Dot Dolores Wiggle Dress, Collectif - £50
Black pearls, Charity Shop - £1
Cream Fur Coat, Primark - £35
Patent Becca Bag, Collectif - £35
T-Bar Heels, eBay - £20

This outfit is really lovely and comfortable, I got my dress in a size 22, but kind of wish I went for a 20 or even an 18. Its actually quite big on me, but I've yet to get round to tailoring it properly to my figure. However, its a super classy, bright number which can brighten anyone's day - as my boss told me so!

I've also been really enjoying wearing hold-ups more so far this autumn/winter, I normally just wore plain tights or leggings if wearing boots. And these Amazon ones are amazing and don't fall down! I have a review for them coming up soon!

I kept my make-up particularly simple, seeing as this is a more 'office' do, and the smoky grey eyes are just absolutely lovely anyway! You can add eyeliner if you wish, however I chose not to.
Make-up
Vie Tinted Moisturiser in Very Light
Collection 2000 Concealer in Shade 02
Collection 2000 Foundation in Light
Natural Collection Face Powder shade Neutral
Light Shimmer Grey over whole lid
Dark Shimmer Grey in crease, blended out
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Mary Kay Lip Gloss in shade Goldrush

OOTW; Coral

So yesterday I popped to town, and my local Peacocks shop had a half price mid-summer sale! Happy Days! So I got a top, which is loose and baggy because of the hot weather, but I also got this rather beautiful dress!

Coral Peter Pan Dress, Peacocks - £16 (£8 on Sale)

Black Waist Belt, New Look - £2.99

Coral Bow Head Band, New Look - £5

Red and White Becca Bag, Collectif - £35

White Bow Wedges, Simply Be - £35
This outfit is simple, but really lovely and light for the heat we are having right now! My make-up is also just a little bit of white and 2 pink eyeshadows blended together with mascara and a tinted moisturiser which has SPF 15 in it too. Its just a little too hot for make-up and wearing lots of heavy clothing!
I just kept the whole outfit simple and effective, its perfect for strolling round the shops and also perfect for a business meeting, this dress is perfect for a number of different situations and definitely a good buy!

Hope you have a fab day my lovelies!

Lots of Love

OOTW & Review: Pretty Polly

We have a double whammy again today! I totally enjoyed reviewing the Stella Sweetheart Dress in this way that I've also decided to do it for this dress...

OOTW

White Bow Wedges, Simply Be - £20
(Discontinued)
Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £9.99

For my make-up I just did the signature rockabilly style with thin winged eyeliner, and a blue undertone red lipstick to make my pearly whites shine. For my eyeshadow I just used the Rimmel Glam'Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in "Glam Ice" for an ice white feel to my eyes for an extra pop in the summer sun!

Recently for my hair I've been totally loving the 60's beehive hairstyle; I'd never really tried it so I've just been experimenting with what works for my hair seeing as mine is growing out and is layered. I just matched the red bandanna for that extra rockabilly touch and just to help shape up the beehive a bit more.

Review

As I said above, I got this dress as a thank you gift. I'd been pining over it since Collectif actually released the images for this dress which is part of this years Spring/Summer Collection. I've been looking for a good shirt dress for a while that actually fits over my rather large bust area and Collectif never fail to make me smile... I actually went for a size 20, I normally go for a size 22 due to the chest area always being tight, but I gave the smaller size a shot; and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well the fit was, with my bust measuring 44-46 depending on the cut I was in between an 18/20. You can either have the dress fully buttoned up, or if you want a slightly more rebel rockbilly feel have it on one of the lower buttons which shows more cleavage! You can either be preppy princess or rebel rockabilly!

The twirl test is probably my favourite thing about reviewing dresses! This dress does have a full circle skirt, however due to the different material it does twirl a bit differently, and actually I really like it! The skirt of the dress actually swings in more of a direction unlike my other circle skirt dresses which just follow your movement - the extra movement of the skirt gives an amazing dimension when walking down the street in heels as it helps to exaggerate your hip movements.

Overall I LOVE the polly dress, its definitely a summer must-have! If the weather does become cooler however you could match this with a bolero; I'd personally reccommend either the Gail Bolero in Cream or Jean Bolero in Ivory

The Polly dress is available in either in red gingham, red or black.

See you saturday for my next post my lovelies!

OOTW: Naughty & Nautical

Last summer I set myself a target to get back into one of my first rockabilly dresses I bought a few years ago... and I finally did it! I still have a little way to go, but I finally fit back into this gorgeous and cheeky dress! This is a Hell Bunny XL dress which is a UK size 16... YES I FIT INTO A 16 EVEN WITH MY BOOBS!

Seasick Sue Sailor Halter Dress, Hell Bunny - £42.99

What Shawl, Charity - £5

Black Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear it Again Sam - £10

Rockabilly Pumps, BabyCham - £15
(Discontinued)

What I love the most about Hell Bunny dresses in particular, you can often find dresses from a few years ago still being sold - which makes me happy if I were to ever want to re-purchase the dress, then I can!

This dress in particular is one of my favourites because it has POCKETS! You don't often find dresses with pockets, but this adorable little thing does!

Can you tell it was super sunny when I took this picture? Make-up is pretty much the same, I decided to wear my Barry M lipstick in no.52 'Shocking Pink' seeing as some of the detailing on the press was in pink too! My hair is pretty basic, just tied back in a ponytail with my bangs and fringe completely unstyled for a change!

The dress has super twirl action too and for those who have asked me quite a few times, I do wear short underneath my dresses, just in case there is a gust of wind and I have a Marilyn Monroe moment!

Lots of love my petals!

Blogmas Day 11 OOTW: Lovely in Lace!

Okay so this week is another black little number, this time its my John Zack short long-sleeved lace dress! This is just a cute little outfit and perfect for a quick evening out down the pub with some friends! I'm wearing this to my work's Christmas play on Friday and I'll be pairing this with tights and some cute heels!

John Zack Lace Dress, New Look - £29.99

Studded Belt, New Look - £5

Large Bow, Beauxoxo - £7

My make-up is just a simple winged eye-liner on top of my trio of eye shadow's layered and blended from my 24/7 make-up portfolio palette. I also added my new 'Pink Punch' babylips lip balm just for an extra little glam that wasn't too over the top!

Well that's another OOTW done, the perfect little outfit for several occasions!

OOTW: Fairly Fairisle

Last week Wednesday I had my first physio session (which I absolutely hated) and after I decided to just do a little bit of shopping and I just saw this super cute outfit with my mum and I just had to have it! (Cheeky little Christmas tree in the back as well!!)

Reindeer Fairisle Jumper dress, Peacocks - £16

Earmuffs, New Look - £4.99

Black Leggings, Peacocks - £7

Victorian Fur cuffed boots, Clarks - £54.99

For my make-up I just did a simple neutral eye shadow effect with a light brown going in the crease if my eye for effect. I kept it simple with just adding mascara using my new Scandaleyes mascara by Rimmel. I used the lipgloss from my Victoria Jackson 24/7 portfolio palette just for an extra shimmer.

I am finally getting my hair chopped again so I can get my fringe sorted out! Another haul will be coming up soon, which I may put on YouTube so watch out for that too!

Make sure you check out my Christmas Giveaway!

Size 14, 16 or 18? So What! - Body Confidence!

Now its only fair to say that everyone has some sort of insecurity, whether it be that your hair isn't how you want it or that your waist isn't skinny enough. I know far too well what its like to be picked on and singled out just because I'm not a size 8... But truthfully, it shouldn't matter whether you are a Size 8 or a Size 22! A lot of people also seem to think that only people who are considered 'plus size' have body issues, but you'll also find a lot of people who are Size 8 or 10 have body issues too!

One thing I will say is that you should NEVER feel ashamed about your body. Your body is your temple, you should respect everything about your body. You shouldn't hate your muffin tops or your stomach just because they aren't perfect - your flaws are the things that make you unique and perfect in your own way.

A lot of people comment about my modelling, which I've started to get into more recently - especially baring a bit more skin. Now, I always used to be very afraid about being a bit more showy on the parts of my body I wasn't happy with. I used to really hate my stomach, my thighs, my neck and the top of my arms. My stomach isn't flat, my thighs are horrible, but why should I hide my body away just because I'm scared what people may think of me? While I was at secondary school, I was subject to many a rude or hurtful comment about my weight just because I wasn't skinny and that I wasn't always the best at sports. I had a really rough time at secondary school, alongside with family problems I was always in a very dark place, I didn't have many friends at secondary school, the majority of my friends were outside school. I always felt very insecure because of my weight. It was only when I went to college did I really become to realise that my weight and figure didn't matter to the people who were my friends. People didn't care that I wasn't skinny or perfect, I had so many people compliment me saying I was a beautiful curvaceous girl, I finally began to regain my confidence. It was only when I started modelling did I begin to start feeling anxious, I was saw modelling as a very stereotypical thing where only girls with flat stomachs could do modelling.

Another problem I've began to find a lot with society is that people are deciding themselves what the word 'curvy' defines. Some say its girls who are skinny but have boobs and a butt, some say its a bigger girl, etc, etc - but to me, everyone is curvy, no one's body is flat like a plank of wood. A good friend of mine said she wanted to make herself look more curvy, so we went on a shopping trip to find specific dresses that highlight certain parts of her body to make her feel good. The really important thing to remember is that, you should dress to impress YOURSELF - not somebody else! If you dress to impress yourself, and you feel confident in yourself, people will fall at your feet and stare at you down the street!

Its really important to remember, that your dress size doesn't define who you are as a person, and you never should let it do that either. You should be who you want to be, not what others want you to be. So what you haven't got a flat stomach, why should you let that stop you wearing a bikini?! You should never be jealous of what someone else has, because there's bound to be someone who wants your figure instead of their own. You should love your body, not hate it, if you love your body, it will love you back.

Never let society judge you, and even if they do, just walk away and remember, you are perfect in every way possible!

OOTW; Pretty Polka-Dots!

I know this is slightly cheeky but I'm using one of the pictures from my photo shoot yesterday as I really love this new outfit! I also wore this dress on my outing to Hastings today and got tonnes of compliments saying its an elegant and lovely dress!

White Dolores Doll Dress Polka, Collectif - £50.00

Waist Belt, New Look - £10

Pink Oil Cloth Messenger Bag, Anladia - £18.37 (18.99€)

Marilyn Cat Eye Sunglasses, Wear It Again Sam - £10 (same here)

Cherry Enamel Necklace, Bow and Crossbones - £4.99

Bow Headband, New Look - £5

Butterfly Clip, Beauxoxo - (Free with Order)

Patent Alpine Clover Heels, Clarks - £39.99

Instead of doing my normal thin winged eyeliner, I had my eye-liner done in thick wings, and I actually super liked this look! It was also much easier to achieve then doing thin winged eye-liner generally because the amount you apply on is on a much bigger surface! I'm also wearing my Barry M red lipstick which I got for my birthday (this also has amazing coverage as its cover up the cold-saw on my cupids bow on my lips... Ouch!)

I hope you liked this look! I will also be featuring my other new dress next week which is a the Classy Bella Lindy Bop Dress in Turquoise, which I will also be purchasing in Raspberry!

Much love

OOTW; Carola Dress!

Sorry for the late post today, I've been busy sorting things out today and resting my foot! Today's OOTW will not feature shoes, because I can't actually wear any shoes right now... However, it shows my new Carola Dress from Lindy Bop!!

Make-up

Winged Eyeliner, Collection 2000, Boots - £1.99

Lipstick - Barry M (not sure what shade, the sticker comes off!) - Pink

Rimmel 24 Hour Stay Foundation - £7.99

As you can see in the photo, I have badly damaged the toes on my feet. Below the bandaging my toes are pretty disgusting, really bruised and really swollen. I have broken the middle toe and the little toe, and its unbelievably painful. More so then I thought... Hence why I can't wear any shoes!

Sorry for the short post, I'm very tired and emotional today, and in a lot of pain, I shall be posting on Friday my 'Summer To-Do List'. I am also looking for Guest Posters on my blog, so if you are interested then drop me a message!

Much Love

OOTW; Biker Girl

Good day to you all! Its another one of those weeks where my emotions want to play a game with me, and I'm feeling so crappy, so I thought I'd dress nicely to make me feel a bit better! Yesterday, I went to Eastbourne to do shopping with my boyfriend and my mum. I decided to go for a bit of a biker girl look, seeing as my boyfriend loves motorbikes and cars (he's a greaser boy by the way!) I thought I'd rock a different look to my girly style.

I'm pulling a really weird face today!

Red Paisley Rockabilly Bandana, Collectif - £2.50

Leopard Print Dress, Peacocks - £12 (includes a black belt)

Black Military Style Boot, Amazon - £17.95

Recently, I've been painting my nails a lot, just so that they look pretty! This week I thought I would try having white nails, as I've never had them white before! For the white I used Mavala nail polish in the shade 'Geneve' and for the blue part of my nail I used Mavala again for the base in shade 'Lagoon' which is a pale blue and just to add a bit of glitz I used the Barry M glitter polish in shade 'Aqua'.

I now have to go to my singing lesson with my Double Bassist and co-Singer in my band today (2 hours of singing, how enjoyable... - please understand my sarcastic tone) and then to come home and have a detox dinner... I need to start eating healthy again and going back down the gym more regularly! Any one have any easy tips?

Much Love

P.S I will also be doing the July Photo Challenge on my Instagram, so make sure you give me a follow and watch out every day for a post! I also forgot to say in my weekly overview this week that I have a gig on Friday, where we are supporting another Rockabilly band (The Rock-a-Limits) however all the tickets are currently sold out and we cannot say if there is any more being issued!

OOTW: Flirty & Floral

I took these pictures on Friday because I super loved my outfit that day and thought it would be a perfect outfit of the week!

Cricket Cardigan, New Look (Sale) - £5

Ballerina T-Bar Pumps, New Look - £12

Pearl Necklace, Gift - £Free

You can see here I've just gone for a super simple look, and I am just wearing my Lancome Lip gloss in Bubblegum (pale pink) with winged eyeliner. My nails are painted with the Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly in shade Greenberry and the Rimmel Lasting Finish in Hot Shot.

OOTW: Pretty in Pink!

Who enjoyed the fantastic bank holiday weather we had? I most certainly did! Just to clear things up, I actually took these photos yesterday before going to perform yesterday afternoon, and I am absolutely in love with my new outfit and dress!

Pink Polka Dot Hetty dress, Lindy Bop - £29.99

Black Belt, New Look - £4.99

Pink Record & Music Clef Necklace, Bow and Crossbones - £4.50

Gold Jewel Kitten Heels, New Look - £5 (last pair in Sale)

Pink Glitter Bow, Beauxoxo - £5

Sock Bun, Peacocks - £1

I hope you like this look! I adore dresses with the full circle skirts, you can wear these with or without a petticoat! I love this dress while wearing the petticoat as it just gives that extra 'wow' to the outfit! I also added the Glitter bow for a bit of sparkle to this outfit! For my make-up, I just have a simple thin winged eye liner and I used my pink Barry M Lipstick! I bought the Lindy Bop 'Hetty' rockabilly dress from the LB's Amazon store, and I must say this is made of the most perfect material if its a hot day, I find the dress is quite light and not too heavy, and the polka dots are just so super adorable!

Summer Shopping Haul!!

I promised you I'd do a haul! And here it is!! I have been super busy lately with party planning, building furniture for my room and work, that I have had to do all my shopping on-line. Never the less all the things I have bought are absolutely beautiful, and I have my mum to thank for introducing me to SimplyBe.
Okay, so first of all, SimplyBe is a clothing company that caters for the non size 0 people of the community like myself! (They sell from sizes 14-32!) I am in fact Size 14-16 in SimplyBe (size 16 depending on the cut of the clothing around my bust area!).

So lets start with the beautiful clothes I bought! All the clothes this haul are from SimplyBe as mentioned above! I absolutely loved the Joe Brown range, it was so retro, and I just had to buy something! So lets start with my new denim gilet!

I absolutely adore this waistcoat/gilet! Its the perfect accessory to any outfit, whether its a dress or a pair of short/trousers and a cute tee!
On the image on the left you can see the frayed detail on the arm hole. The colour of this jacket is a denim wash, and its the comfiest denim gilet in the world! This item is perfect if you are trying to achieve a rock chic/festival sort of look! This is even more perfect if you have  problems with finding these jackets to fit over your bust, this has a stretchy material so it is easy to fit over your chest and to button this up! You can wear this unbuttoned or buttoned up and you will achieve the perfect rock chic look! You can buy this for a nice round price of £30, this gilet will last you a while and it wont be part of the 5 minute fashion fad!

The next item is the Joe Browns Legacy Print Dress, now this item didn't actually look how I expected it to look when it arrived; in the catalogue it showed a pale purple (like the image on the right) but when the dress arrived it was a much more deep purple, however I was still very much in love with this dress! This has a sweetheart neckline which gives you a lovely cleavage, this dress also has a ruched area on the bust by the neckline, which also has buttons (however these cannot be undone). this dress pulls in at the waist perfectly, giving you a stunning figure. The skirt on this dress has a dipped hem, and is perfect to wear with a white flowy cardigan and a pair of wedges for a cute summer look. At the back of the dress, it also has a ruched area on the back, to pull in the dress to extend your stunning curvy figure! I bought the legacy print dress for £38.

The next item is the gorgeous Joe Browns Meadow Swing Dress, this out of all the items has to be my favourite!! I am a sucker for floral swing dresses, and if I could afford every single one I probably would buy them all, sadly I am not that rich... yet! Moving on, this dress has a mustard yellow sort of colour in person but always comes out brighter in pictures! The flowers on this are different shades or pinks and the green is a deep green. This dress is a dream to wear, it has a small slip skirt underneath the material, so another extra little bonus there! There is no zips or buttons on this dress and it has a stretchy waist so if you have any concerns about the dress fitting, may your worries be taken away! I bought this beautiful dress for £45 but it is worth every single penny, the quality of the dress is amazing, and this product washes really well, and also super easy to iron as well, just needing a quick press on the skirt!

The last clothing item I bought was this lovely floral 'Pick of the Season' tunic dress. You can wear this as a casual sort of dress or for a special occasion  it fits lovely to your figure, pulling in at the waist. This dress has a scoop neckline, and is made of a light material so its perfect for hot weather! (Not like we get much hot weather in the UK!) You can buy this dress in Red or French Blue. I bought this little beauty for £38 and I adore wearing this little number with a cardigan and some cute little flat pumps!

Now onto the accessories bit! This is always my favourite bit, adding to an outfit! So lets begin with the lovely pair of cat eye sunglasses I bought from the kitsch Bow and Crossbones...

I bought these lovely 'Trixie Pin-Up Rounded Cats' Eye' Sunglasses for a lovely £8. I bought these in white, because I already have a black pair of Cats Eye sunglasses. This pair are super sturdy and are the perfect accessory for the sun or to just prop on your head to finish off a hair do! The lenses are a deep shade or black/purple and work really well with all my Swing Dress'!

The next is this lovely mini Tote Bag (Woodland), again from Bow and Crossbones; I bought this in the clearance sale. I bought this for £1.50. I like to call this my mini Bambi Bag! I love the design on this and the handles are really sturdy when carrying small but heavy items. With all my babysitting duties lately, I have had to work with a pram and a 3 year old to go shopping, and yes its not easy! But I always get the little 3 year old involved in shopping but getting her to put things in her bag, and when we get to the checkout we empty out and see what she's got! Such a fun little game, and a handy little tote bag! Highly recommend this little bag, cheap, cheerful and super retro!

These are my new favourite shoes! You would've have seen these in my OOTW this week! I bought these amazingly comfy and stylish summer wedges for £18! I never tend to buy shoes from shops such as New Look, Peacocks etc because I like to buy my shoes from the shoe shops! However, these are an absolute exception, I've been looking for a pair of black wedges for a while as my white pair don't tend to go with all my outfits! I was a bit dubious with the height of these as I like low heels instead of higher ones, but these are so comfy! I can wear these for hours and have no pain in my feet at all! These are very much styled like flatforms except with a super small arch! So easy to walk in, and this is someone who walks in small heels instead of high ones! The black material is made of suede and has a cap for your heel at the back and an ankle strap to make sure they stay on your foot, especially if you go and do some dancing!

I bought these lovely photo frames from a lovely little shop in my local town called 'Emma Louise' now she sells Sass & Belle products, which these are, in that shop I paid £5.95 each, but you can buy these Oval Portrait Picture frames for £4.95 each from the Sass & Belle website! I didn't mind paying that little extra cause the lady in the shop is the absolute sweetest woman in the world! I have pictures of me and my 2 friends who mean a lot to me in these frames on my windowsill!

I also bought this lovely little Cream Rose Heart Wreath, which is also from Sass & Belle. I bought this for £3.95 from Emma Louise, but you can buy this also from the Sass & Belle Website for £4.95. This so cute and sweet!

The last item I bought was this retro 'Make Chocolate Cake, Not War' coaster for my bedroom, I'm going to buy one of these each month for my room, as they have a selection of many different ones! I fell in love with this one, because lately I have been doing so much baking of cakes and breads and all that, that I thought this would be perfect! I love the colour and the simplicity of this lovely little retro coaster, and for only a £1 from Bow and Crossbones

So that rounds up my huge haul which I've been promising you for a while! I shall hopefully be blogging more and I have some new ideas to blog you with! Hope you enjoyed this post, sorry its a tad long!

Much Love & Well Wishes

Anyone Can Model.

Now, those of you who know me personally know I am a trainee photographer and also studying English Language. I take great pride in my photography and everything to do with it. I have a few friends who are also photographers and occasionally need model's for a project. Now, my friend needed me as a model for her latest project 'The Modern Elegance' which will be showcased later this year. She asked me if I was able to portray the ideas of Audrey Hepburn and the iconic Marilyn Monroe; the elegance and body composition in a photo. I am only aloud to reveal one image to you all, (the image on the right) which is currently my profile picture on Facebook! In the image I had to portray elegance, and what a lady should reveal. The name of the image (which was chosen by myself and my friend) is "A girl has beauty, a woman has elegance". I am not meant to say what the picture depicts or says or the particular message to you... so here we ask you (Josie and myself) want to know what you think from this image; what is says to you as a viewer and recipient of the image!

Much Love

Emma
